I wish I would have saved it, but I was reading this paper about a year or so ago, written by a biochemist, that detailed a critical mistake that Blaylock makes in understanding the metabolism of glutamate in the brain. Basically, the way Blaylock asserted glutamate's role in the brain would have also demonized L-glutamine supplements, which many athletes, bodybuilders, and others regularly take. So, just because he's a neurosurgeon doesn't mean he's infallible in his understanding of biochemistry.

This, of course, should not in any way be taken as a defense of MSG, which I actively avoid. Keep in mind that, while MSG isn't a good idea for anybody, some people are especially sensitive and susceptible to its deleterious effects. It's these people that need to avoid it most cautiously.

Given the reputation (outstanding) of Dr. Blaylock, why would you automatically assume this unknown critic is correct in his criticism? The odds are overwhelming that the critic is *incorrect*, and Dr. B. correct. Further, it seems irresponisble to post this blanket dismissal of one as esteemed as Dr. Blaylock. and NOT provide even a fragment of the actual criticism by said unknown 'biochemist'.

Makes no sense, isn't reasonable, isn't fair. Either post this mysterious criticism, or erase the damn thing. imho.
