    Brattleboro Vermont Primary, my experience

    Brattleboro Vermont Primary, my experience

Brattleboro is the 2nd largest community in southern VT. VT holds local elections at the same time as the Primary (or town meetings in the community is very small.) Remember, the Primary is open.

There were 5 Paul supporters, 2 Santorum supporters and 1 Jon Stewart supporter at the polling location.
Paul supporter 1 - From New Hampshire, stood there all day
Paul supporter 2 - From NH (me), stood there 2/3s of the day
Paul supporter 3 - From Brattleboro, stood there 2 hours
Paul supporter 4 - From Brattleboro, stood there 2 hours
Paul supporter 5 - From NH (the southern VT Ron Paul campaign organizer), stood there 1 hour
Santorum supporter 1 - From Brattleboro, stood there 1/2 day
Santorum supporter 2 - From Brattleboro, stood there 1/2 day
Stewart supporter 1 - From Brattleboro (in middle school), stood there for 30 minutes

30 minutes after the polls closed (7:30 P.M.) the unofficial results were posted.
    Democratic Primary
    Obama 932
    Republican Primary
    Romney 270 40%
    Santorum 177 26%
    Paul 164 24%
    Gingrich 45 7%
    Huntsman 17 3%
    Perry 6 1%

There was somewhere around 1600 total votes for all elections and around 679 in the Republican Primary. Keep in mind that likely 200 or more of those votes were Democrats or Obama supporters (Independents that lean Democrat.) The county went around 75% for Obama and 25% for McCain in 2008 but Brattleboro is more Democrat than the county as a whole.

Paul did very well in Vermont, considering that is official campaign only did TV ads in VT (though the grassroots did radio ads, door to door, sign waves...)
