Thread: Question: Essential elements of a good/qualified candidate?

Default Question: Essential elements of a good/qualified candidate?

What are the essential elements that make a good or qualified candidate for public office?

What disqualifies a candidate to serve in public office?

I know many of you will say obeying the constitution but I not looking for thoughts on political ideology. We are all mostly in agreement on that issue. What characteristics, career, education background, or other make an individual qualified to serve if at all? Does anything have any bearing on an individuals qualification other than their oath to office?

I think those questions need to be answered by your potential constituents, rather than us.

    Point taken.

But with that said, in general, what would you say?
