Paul has received endorsements from several GOP leaders of county party organizations across the state, according to Yahoo!. Endorsements come from several levels, and include a judge on the state’s Supreme Court. Paul has also attracted the largest crowds. According to the Star Telegram, his rallies have attracted 1500 visitors in all.
The Washington caucuses have also been the second occasion, since the beginning of the primaries, that Paul has attacked Romney. Ahead of the Washington state caucuses, Paul published an ad entitled “Three of a Kind” that criticizes the other Republican candidates, including Romney, who he had largely refrained from criticizing until this week.
Washington state shifted last year from a state that holds primaries to one that holds caucuses. This shift is significant for Paul, he appeals largely to independents and many of his supporters are very dedicated. The implication is that Paul voters means are likely better prepared for this situation. Voters expecting a primary ballot will be unable to cast a vote.
