If Rand were selected as VP nominee, and Romney lost, Rand would be the prohibitive favorite going into 2016.

If Romney won, there is a good chance of a 50/50 split in the Senate and Rand would have the tie breaking vote for anything that split on party lines.
i doubt there'd be many senate ties. I think the more important thing is that Rand would hold a lot of leverage over Romney. Now, i know the vp is largely symbolic, but Rand has the ability to call out the president (which would hurt him politically) if he is pushing bad ideas.

We are renewing our passports. I already have a company overseas for a decade now and am assured that as part of our "negotiations" I could become the Irv Rosenfeld of a small southeast asian country and I have to tell ya if they put that in writing I might consider it now whereas I never considered it before. This is already too much now and at my age I'm not going to do what I did in the late 60's/early 70's and since the younger generation doesn't seem to have the same chutzpah I'm feeling pretty discouraged.

Ya know, a lot of people figure Ron is not going to get the 1144 delegates and might need some other argument to keep enthused. Put down comments certainly don't keep me enthused.
