    Default Debating A Neocon

Hey there. My friend and I debate. Alot. What comes up most is foreign policy. He believes that we need to be over there and if we don't then innocent civilians will be killed by terrorists. I try telling him that we kill many civilians ourselves but he says that there is no proof. Also he believes that there is no proof we are arming the Syrian rebels and that in the past, we overthrew the Iranian government. He truly thinks we need to be over there to make peace. I wish he would see through Fox news. Could you help me with facts and strategies that I could debate him with?

Smack him on the head. When he says "Why did you do that?", say "This is how our foreign policy works when you don't agree with us."

woah woah woah, wait a minute. He actually says there isn't any 'proof' we overthrew Iran back in the 50s? Uh.....

Yeah. I try to show him but he only believes "credible" sources. (Not MSNBC, ABC, CNN) Basically, he only believes Drudge, Reuters, and Fox. Help please!!

Well, if that's the case then he's being willfully ignorant of the facts. The only way to approach the issue of foreign policy is to point out how unsustainable these endless wars have become, reducing our once-great economy to a debt-hell service economy with a currancy rapidly losing its value. The country will collapse and most of the idiots who can't figure this out will starve to death along with their families. History shows this to be correct.

I read about how our CIA helped to overthrow Mosadeqh on the CIA's website. All those docs are now public.
"We do have some differences and our approaches will be different, but that makes him his own person. I mean why should he [Rand] be a clone and do everything and think just exactly as I have. I think it's an opportunity to be independent minded. We are about 99% the same on issues." "People Try To Drive Wedges Between Rand And Me." --Ron Paul

Tell him he's right. Just a little longer over there and there'll be peace.

Tell him to look up a little thing called Operation Ajax. It's all unclassified information now.
