Pigs on a power trip, looking for an excuse to shoot something just because they can.

Is it wrong if I enjoy hearing about pigs getting killed nowadays? Some might think so, but I don't. Because as far as I'm concerned, police in the US are all the same (at least 99.9% of them). Those who aren't dirty, lying, bullying, sadistic thugs still cover up for the ones who are. The "Blue Wall of Silence" is very real. I never hear of any cops (willfully) arresting, reporting, or even condemning any "brother officers" for even the most grotesque violations of citizens' rights. That makes them all guilty by association in my book.

I would prefer to NEVER hear that a L.E. is shot. Likewise, I would prefer to NEVER hear that a citizen is shot for 'contempt of cop.'

A line needs to be drawn in which there is respect on BOTH sides.

I don't like to hear about any innocent people getting shot... but it's less disturbing when a thug (in or out of government costume) gets shot.

There is NO doubt that the situation as it stands is decidedly one sided. Both in outcome and in redress of grievance.

That said I STILL do not wish death on ANYONE. Respect will come when BOTH sides are equal in justice and outcome.

Police shooting of Pines dog prompts call for change in policy


Public outcry over the fatal shooting of a 12-year-old golden retriever last fall led theSt. PetersburgPolice Department to change its canine policy in November. Boomer was the seventh canine shot by a St. Pete cop in 2011.

On the chief's orders, officers underwent training in how to handle aggressive dogs. Some were issued noose-like catch poles to help with the humane capture of dogs.

St. Pete officers are now told to shoot a dog only if it "poses an imminent threat of death or great bodily harm" to a person. Whenever possible, they are encouraged to refer animal-related incidents to experts at Animal Control

Pines family gets $20,000 settlement after cop kills their dog Baxter

The family of Baxter, the Australian shepherd shot and killed by a Pembroke Pines officer, has received $20,000 in a settlement with City Hall.

Owners Frank and Cindy Jones could not be reached for comment Friday.

On Feb. 24, Officer Nicholas Taber fired six shots at Baxter because the dog charged him and his partner as they stood outside the family's open front door.

Hit by three bullets, Baxter died three weeks later.

In April, hundreds of supporters joined Baxter's family outside City Hall in a protest urging officers to use lethal force only as a last resort when responding to complaints about loose dogs.

The couple's 13-year-old son, Cameron, read a speech to commissioners, telling them he lost his brother and best friend when Baxter died. The boy, standing at the front door, was close by when the officer opened fire on his dog.

Current laws entitle owners to the property value of their pet, without taking into consideration the grief and suffering over the loss of companionship.

The Joneses and their attorney argued that Baxter was not just property, but a member of the family.

Robert Clements says he plans to make the same argument if his case against Fort Lauderdale goes to trial.

In May, Fort Lauderdale Police Officer Pete Haritos shot and killed Bandy, one of Clements' three Australian shepherds. The dogs had gotten out of the yard after an automatic gate malfunctioned, Clements said.

Clements said he is not after money, but instead hopes to bring more attention to the issue of cop-on-canine shootings.

"I want to expose the police for what they are doing," he said. "Why didn't he use Mace on my dog? The simple answer is the cops are trigger happy."

Both police departments ruled the shootings were justified.

Not to mention all of the time it takes to raise and train the dog. I'm going through that right now, after losing my best friend (a 12 year old Doberman to old age) the July before last. I picked up my new Dobe puppy in February and that is why I wasn't posting here for all those months following. I was way too busy looking after that puppy to do much else. As it is, I'm still pretty busy watching him, but he is getting better about chewing up stuff.

If I were to hire someone to raise him, it would have cost me thousands of dollars, and then I don't know how he would have turned out. I have to raise them myself in order to be able to control how they turn out. That doesn't even count the attachment one gets when going through all of that training and caring for the little guy. After even just a month, you can get pretty darned attached to your new puppy.

Many, many years ago while I was running along a canal roadway, a pack of small dogs approached me from behind from the bank of the canal up from somebody’s yard and one dog decided to bite the back of my ankle. I had just thought to pickup a rock, spin around, and sprint toward them, which in reaction they all turned tail and ran off, at which time I chucked my rock at the offending dog (for they were way to fast), of course my rock missed it. While the option of shooting the dog didn’t seem at all necessary even if I had been in possession of a firearm at the time.

If a pig ever shot my dog, my wrath would be so great that it would almost be worth the death of my dog in order to act upon it. I'd film the action and title it "Saw 6."
