Rand has said similar things lately. He is out for the veep slot.
this was yesterday, he was asked after an event he was speaking at. It was before the debate. It is already in Rand's forum so I will merge this with that.
"Integrity means having to say things that people don't want to hear & especially to say things that the regime doesn't want to hear.” -Ron Paul
“To avoid criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.” ― Aristotle
Rand is not quite a Ron, but he's still better than 98% of the people in D.C.
"For if you [the rulers] suffer your people to be ill-educated, and their manners to be corrupted from their infancy, and then punish them for those crimes to which their first education disposed them, what else is to be concluded from this, but that you first make thieves [and outlaws] and then punish them."
-Sir Thomas More (1478-1535), Utopia, Book 1

Does this mean that he is out of the running for VP or out to get it? If he has Presidential ambitions, of course it benefits him to be perceived as a major player. Rand would have much more political impact as a Senator, so I'm not sure why he would want to be VP right now. If he was Romney's VP and Romney lost in 2012 or 2016, he might kiss those Presidential ambitions goodbye.
I would be honored too if the prez wanted me as VP. But I won't judge. Only Paul knows what's going on... Or maybe he's infiltrating the neocons to investigate the conspiracy? I just don't think Paul would raise his son to be a neocon.
