    Why does the media have the right to access and report the toxicology of Whitney Houston?

    I thought medical records were supposed to be private. How are they getting around this?

    Probably from the coroner's report, which would be a public record.

    So really this is different from Doctor / Patient confidentiality? Since this was conducted by the Coroner who is probably a city or county official?
