Thread: Ron Paul To visit with the Pope?

Default Ron Paul To visit with the Pope?

Is there anyone here with connections to the Church? i think this would be a public relations coup. The Pope supports non-interventionism and peace, pro-life, etc. How can we make this happen?

Catholics 4 RonPaul - Let's see if we can make this happen!

I think the positions of the Vatican are in line more with Ron Paul than any other. There has to be a realization among more though that freedom is true social justice, not socialism.

"The concept of a 'preventive war' does not appear in the Catechism of the Catholic Church"
    - Pope Benedict XVI

“Reasons sufficient for unleashing a war against Iraq did not exist”
    - Pope Benedict XVI

"When war, like the one now in Iraq, threatens the fate of humanity, it is even more urgent for us to proclaim, with a firm and decisive voice, that only peace is the way of building a more just and caring society"
    - Pope John Paul II

"Violence and weapons can never resolve the problems of man."
    - Pope John Paul II

"Torture is a humiliation of the human person, whoever it is. The Church does not allow these means to extract the truth."
    - Cardinal Renato Martino, head of the Vatican pontifical council on peace and justice.

Yes, why wouldn't he support Ron Paul? Is there any way to set up a meeting? How about we call / email the Vatican??

That's a great idea! I know a few local preists - does anyone know a Bishop or someone higher in the church?

Help me write the email - shouldn't it come directly from the campaign?

I like the idea, although I would far prefer it if JP2 was still around. Benny 16 doesn't have the same universal appeal, and he's even been linked to Nazism (I don't buy it, but some do), which we don't need. Plus, it might rub some people the wrong way if they don't want religion mixing with politics anymore, and evangelical Protestants could be offended.
