Thread: Overcoming respiratory illness

    Default Overcoming respiratory illness

So for over a weak now I've had a sinus infection that I believe has become bronchitis. I have a constant cough (I cough probably twice every minute or more), and it seems like no matter what I take, nothing seems to help it. I took some left-over antibiotics from the previous time I got sick (took the regular dose for seven days before running out), and I've been drinking Robitussin DM. I've been trying my best to keep hydrated as well. I also constantly suck on Halls cough drops. On top of this, I have a fever that ranges anywhere from 99.7 to 101.8.

Anyway, nothing seems to work, and as I work in a call center, and as I'll be starting making calls the Monday after next, I need to get this thing whipped. I've been coughing so much that my chest and back feel like they've been hit with sledgehammers. Does anyone know of anything that actually works? Any advice would be appreciated.

By the way, I can't go to the doctor as I don't have insurance, and I don't have the money to pay a doctor bill.

This will sound really dumb to you and not believable but there is an ancient Taoist practice called the six healing sounds, which I do daily and I haven't had a cold in 8 years. Try the lung sound, it really does work and its free:

Drink lots of water! Over one gallon a day, until you clear up.

Your symptoms are not all that uncommon. Upper respiratory infections can frequently migrate to the bronchial passages within the lungs, especially when excessive antibiotic usage eliminates much of the microflora that normally occurs in the respiratory tract. Unfortunately, antibacterials and antivirals may or may not be of much use. Your body has all the tools it needs to get rid of the infection; it just takes time.

Don't drink over 2 per day. Keep it up for a week, it should help a lot. I had a similar problem a few years ago. Quit smoking until you clear up, assuming you smoke, if not, ignore that.

I've had the same problem. I've been taking 30 drops of Grapefruit Seed Extract in water four times a day, while using an expectorant (Guaifenesin) so I can cough up the sputum and clear my lungs. It seems to be going away, but just lately, it seems to have gone down into my intestines and I've had some diarrhea. I'm still fighting it with the GSE as well as Olive Leaf Extract.

I doubt this problem will be with me much longer though (a couple more days) as it seems to be getting much better. It lasted around three weeks though.

And what ever you do, don't smoke any cigarettes while you are having this problem.

    Hope you get better soon.

I'll stop by my local place that sells that kind of stuff to see if they carry it. They usually have stuff for relatively good prices

Hell, I'll try anything. How many times / how long / how often should you do it? I did it for about two minutes straight and still had a coughing fit.

    I don't smoke.

The reason I drink so much is because if I don't, I fall into constant coughing fits which interrupts my class at work.
