true, i do the same as well. but if people are not aware, the opinions that these channels put out are stated as "facts" when they do not give a proper opposing view or proper presentation they stop being "News Channels" and become just "skewed commentary channels"

many people fall for it hook line and sinker, hell i did for many years. now, not so much.

Many prayers are being heard and answered, and you folks are the proof!

    Welcome all newcomers!

We all have our story for how we got here. For me, I've been a lifelong small gov't, individual responsibility conservative, and assumed that voting straight R ticket would eventually get America moving in the direction I thought was best. The 2008 election cycle shattered that perception for me, because I realized that even with R's in both houses of Congress and the White House, fedgov increased astronomically.

It took Ron Paul saying it on a debate stage, though, for me to realize it. I remember looking back on the years from 2000-2006 and wondering why FNC and the talk-talks weren't already fueling what should've been my outrage at the exponential increases in gov't size and spending. Then I saw how horribly they started treating a guy who actually had been voting for decades exactly the way I thought all R's should've been voting all along. Boy oh boy, was that a bucket of icewater to the face.

It's great to see, though, that despite the media and the establishment's best attempts to squelch Ron Paul and this awakening, we continue to grow in numbers, and that growth is accelerating.

    Welcome
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] "It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a person stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance." QFT!

On a side note, I recognized the war mongering of Bill Kristol and John McCain many, many years before I had heard the term neo-conservatism. It was just obvious that those two were coordinated in their propaganda, without knowing a single thing about the groups behind the scenes.

Its amazing how active you become once you see the truth, and how as you learn more about Ron Paul the more you love him. A whole lot in my family and friends have seen the truth now as well, due to the fact of the continuous youtube links I send them all... "ohhh look at this, no look at this one!" amazing whats happening, the only thing ppl need to do, is DO their OWN research. A lot of ppl out there never will but say they do...

Another problem i've found, with for example my grandparents, is a whole lot of the older crowd that votes does not know how to do research on the internet, in fact I know a lot of older ppl who don't even own a computer and only rely on MSM for the truth... If we could just reach this crowd we would be gold. People my parents age can do the research but most won't because they have been brainwashed by fox and rush... So the way I reached them is to show them blatant bias against Ron Paul, they believe Fox News really is 'fair and balanced' still, and I can't blame them because I was one of them too. But I also see now that since I know the truth I have an obligation to spread it.

I've emailed almost everyone at Fox multiple times in a detailed msg saying how betrayed I now felt after having supported them for so long. Probably won't hear back, but one day they will pay for the lies and blatant bias they've spread.
BETTER LATE THAN NEVER! Glad to have you here. Welcome to the Revolution and spread the word!

i had my blinders taken off over 20 years ago.

your skin will grow thick. in a way, it's easier now - you have a support group. back then, i felt alone. there's a reason many of the 'outsiders' that are shunned or made fun of are 'outsiders'. and back then, there wasn't a symbol of liberty like Ron Paul that was so at odds with the intended narrative... while the media manipulation was still prevalent, they were all on the same page, so to speak. Now, Ron Paul's like a neon sign, drawing full attention to their methods. The internet helps too, certainly, because it allows us to connect and share -- verses going 'what the heck was that' and then just watching the next show.

now our numbers are huge. they will tell us we are losing and use all of the language at their fingertips to do so: unelectable. fringe. young. third party. kooky. conspiracy theorists. rude. Everything they can do to keep those with blinders on from actually LOOKING at us, and seeing themselves.

Because that's the trick -- they control the message not by selecting a specific narrative, but by silencing narratives opposed to their own. You can't let people hear a message of truth and liberty, because it risks waking them up.

    Welcome to the revolution.
"Ron Paul, not going anywhere. Ideologically pure and tough as nails!"

Beck's show is what you take from it. Some people are going to be unnerved by his faith and his partiality towards Israel. However, he's miles ahead of the other schmucks in terms of presenting the truth. It's not even close. The other pundits basically stick to the whole Republican loyalty script, which is very unbecoming.

I'm guilty of still listening to them at times, but only to see how bad the bias has become. Once you've been awakened, it is infuriating. What kills me is how they have all the control over what goes over the airwaves. They can make stuff up, they can screen calls, they can cut off callers, they can talk over callers. And then, of course, they can promote and spin with their candidate with abandon. The truth is that they want Obama (or someone with the same policies as Obama) to win. We have a one-party system, after all.

And a major part of their propaganda is that they are somehow NOT THE MEDIA.

    Makes me sick. Literally.

Been there done that. Was a Rush fan for 20 years and Hannity for 4 or 5 years. FOX News. The whole works. I voted for Paul in 2008 in the primaries but never really got involved in the movement. Then I saw a video one day about a year ago about how FOX ignored Ron Paul in 2008 and even left him out of a debate. I remembered that, but it never really hit me at the time because I got my news from FOX. I then decided to do my own research and was I astounded at the information I found. I woke up in more ways than one. Rush and Hannity simply make me nauseous anymore to listen to and I canceled my cable TV because that is nothing but consumer driven brainwashing too. Nothing to see on the network news channels either. I can watch the streams of the debates still while not supporting them financially.

I do enjoy NPR now. They actually have civil discussions with opposing view points and no yelling.

before 07, I'd been listening to rush since his old Echostar sat broadcasts that I'd have to fine tune my sat to receive properly. I remember the ross perot days about the black helicopter are coming to get me parodies, and several others that really sunk Perot back in the day.

Looking back now I realize that Rush was always a big govt fraud, and making money off of me and millions of others was his only goal.

I am only 28, but been interested in politics since at least age 6.
