Senior photojournalist with apparent ties to the president...shows me his Glare of Doom after I film his reporter, Dana Bash. His name is Peter Morris, and our encounter occurred at Ron Paul's NH primary celebration on Jan. 10. If she'd let me interview her....we could have delved into my concerns regarding her treatment by Paul supporters. Instead...the focus becomes CNN's angry, powerful propaganda operative.

I've seen a handful of his videos where he just stands there and records people hoping to get a rise out of them. I fail to see how this is productive. If the only story you have is a person annoyed that you're recording them, you don't have much of a story.

Well, initially I think he just wanted to get a few shots so that he could make his video, but then the guy trying to get in his way became the story.

Ridley's done a lot of activism for the right to record in public.

A student of Gandhi's approaches, a guy from India....went on Free Talk Live a while back. He explained how he thinks eventually, inside-system activists inevitably betray those outside the system over basic rights. Like, say, the right to briefly document a public situation on film.

I post my vids here partly because I want criticism and feedback, and I welcome it. But all of us should take care not to make this young man's warnings come true.
