A Liberty candidate for County Commission, Alamance Co. NC

I know we're focused on some extremely important national races to get our message out, as well we should be. The end game of that message is to bring our government back to it roots and in doing so, the Tree of Liberty can bloom once more. As you all know, the roots are us, individuals living a life of freedom and prosperity. In order to ensure our survival as a free people, some of us must take activism a step further, here in North Carolina, another liberty lover has joined the fight to spread the message and lead. Mark Hopp, a Ron Paul republican is running for one of the most important office we should have, county commissioner of Alamance Co. NC. We are winning, changing the course of our nation at her roots.
Mark is committed to the ideas of our founding and will be a voice of liberty. I'll let him speak for himself:

    Mark on the Issues
    Education
One of the most important responsibilities of a free society is to allow
localities and states to have control over the schools. The current one
size fits all approach simply will not work and the results are evident.
The 2010-11 Republican led State Legislature made some major steps toward
increasing competition among the state school system, and we should
further increase this competition in the coming years. A monopoly on any
system is destructive to a free and prosperous society, especially when it
is one that plays such a large role in shaping the minds and futures of
our children. As Alamance County Commissioner, I will work with the state
legislature to encourage further competition among schools in the Alamance
Burlington school system. I will also work to ensure that allocated money
    is used wisely.
    Jobs and the Economy
Less regulation and a decentralized economy makes for a more stable job
market. When you ask your financial advisor how to stabilize your
investments, he is likely to tell you to diversify your finances into
different areas. The same is true of the economy and jobs. Cut wasteful
spending, lower taxes, deregulate and let the private sector do what it
does best: innovate and create jobs. Alamance County, because of our
location in the Triad, has the potential to be a hotbed for jobs again.
The key is to make Alamance County enticing for all businesses, and not
just by giving temporary incentives as so often seen across the country
and throughout our state. These incentives result in a boom in the local
economy causing people to spend money with the assumption that the jobs
will be there long-term but then when the incentives end and jobs move on
people lose their wealth and homes. As Alamance County Commissioner I will
work to allow for a stable economy that will last.
    Taxation and Spending
While some taxation and spending is necessary, it should be kept to a bare
minimum to promote maximum business growth. Low taxes, coupled with the
reduced regulation stated above will help increase production and
therefore a resultant increase in tax revenues. A reduction in spending
and increased government efficiency is also paramount to jobs. Reducing
special interests and corruption of those who cheat the system is also
necessary. Our budget must be looked at closer to find overlapping
responsibilities and effective ways to streamline services. All in order
to reduce taxes and regulation thereby making our county more job
friendly. As Alamance County Commissioner I will work hard to keep your
    money in your pocket.
    Forced Annexation and Property Rights
The use of force on any private citizen by the government has no place in
a free society. North Carolina is one of several states with a history of
cities forcing citizens of the county to be annexed in to the city without
a voice in the process. Many people I work with in home health are on a
fixed income, and have relayed their concerns of how forced annexations
result in increases in their monthly expenses, which could mean the
difference between putting food on the table and going hungry. As your
County Commissioner, I will work to stop this from happening in Alamance
County as well as work to prevent future episodes.

Mark will have a website up and running in a week, look for him to making noise real soon.
