I just wanted to offer a suggestion to those of you who, like me, are blessed to have a wonderful family, good health, and good finances during this holiday season.
My aunts, uncles, parents and grandparents have been asking me what I want for Christmas. I've been noncommittal, and asked that they put their money to better use rather than offer it to me. My response is about to change.
I come from a long line of Democrats. My family is filled with them. They are, however, Western Pennsylvania Democrats. Basically, that means they like guns, embrace civil liberties, and see value in social safety nets like Social Security. For nearly five years, I've forced them to endure my rants about Ron Paul, and they've embraced him. But they've yet to change party affiliation to vote for him in our state's primary. This Christmas, when we're all at my parent's house to celebrate the season, I'm going to print the forms required to register as a Republican and ask that they all sit with me to fill them out. Afterwards, I'll throw the forms in an envelop and mail them.
This is going to be a wonderful way to pick up roughly twenty votes for Paul, and I highly encourage the rest of you to consider doing something similar if you can.
