The dollar’s slide: 1/3 down and falling faster

I'm pulling in 80k + rent money from some rentals and I'm felling the pinch. I can't imagine what it would be like making 20k/year.

When was the last time it was this bad? I hear my Dad talk about the Carter years, but I was an infant then, so it made no difference to me.

It was BAD during those years. 1979 was a real bummer.

If you're a renter, this is great. Leverage up your rent money in non-USD and lock in the lease for as long as possible.

I'm screwing over my land lord every month and it feels great.

Yeah, but the early 80s sure made up for it! Those were giddy days, kind of like the tech days. But just like the tech bust, the days that followed the early 80s were filled with leveraged hostile takeovers, takeovers where corporate raiders bought companies that were doing just fine and sold off the parts for more than the worth of the company. Sure, they had the right to do that, but they used questionable means to pull it off.

I just signed a new lease for the house I am renting and they are including heat... I am making out like a bandit. I could not buy/heat/pay taxes on the house I am living in for the money I am renting it for.
