Is the EPA coming for your wood-burning stove!
There is great controversy over the pollution issue - so I deleted this. Sorry.

That's a given that the EPA will be coming for our wood stoves.

People are insane over a piece of shredded tobacco burning, was only a matter of time until they came after stoves and fireplaces.

Can't have anybody doing for themselves now, can we?

I know it as the Russian Fireplace, but I think it has other names. Very efficient, versatile AND beautiful.

If the electricity or gas goes out, you aren't up shit creek. You can cook using it. You can let it go out and the thermal mass keeps a home at a decent temperature for days, and it's safer than standard fireplaces. It's just perfect.

Other needs for the dream house: a well with a pump that's run on solar (or other alt energy source). Root cellar. Moat.
