Biofuel ready. Vegetable oil, the green fuel. My truck is carbon neutral. Can't say that about your prius.

Too bad it wasn't a monster truck and he could have tested it on the Prius.

I am literally surrounded with people like this Prius driving lady where I live (northeast Oakland near the Berkeley border). Just a bunch of brainwashed self-righteous mean spirited superficial myopic self-centered collectivists. The Prius is not very green with all the $#@! that goes into that battery. These are Obama's people.

Love the comments
I suppose the good news is that with that rage problem and the extra hundred pounds she is carrying, she probably isn't going to be around for long.
I just bought a VW Golf TDI. Great mileage, no expensive batteries to replace, and it doesn't need to be connected to the electric grid. I suspect it would need serious work to have it running on vegetable oil, but it is at least a possibility.

I wounder if she has found out that her prius needs gas too yet???
Best conversion for that vehicle is made by Frybrid. www.frybrid.com. costs about $3000 last I checked, but it's a small operation with a lot of orders, so if you're interested, place now for delivery. Be sure you have a source of oil before you order or your bid is wasted.

Hahaha... You came over there and started yelling at them. If you had been civil and humble, then they most likely would of complied with your request. Try rethinking your approach next time..

lol too bad the guy missed the obvious fat jokes, but I guess he's better off for taking the high road.
I rented one of those last weekend. Great car, much bretter than the previous Golf (which I think they called Rabbit in the states)
My best friend just bought himself an Audi A8 with a 4.2L V8. Had it converter to use LPG, now he gets the same amount of power (350hp) and LPG costs 1/3 as much as gas in Germany. Conversion set him back €2500 but he'll make that money back in 4 months with the savings. Also the great thing is, his car now has two has tanks and he can switch between LPG and gasoline with the touch of a button.

From the YouTube page:
One truck going from 10 mpg to 20 mpg could save 1000 gallons per year (assuming he drives 20,000 miles). This is equivalent to SIX cars going from 30 mpg to 40 mpg. In that regard, he is the one "saving" the environment. She is likely overpaying for too little benefit and, thus, wasting resources.Ok, I do not deny I drive a truck that has some what bad MPGs ,my average is 18-22mpg... AND I can go bio diesel too and that is another reason why I got this one.... From the last one I had and that got 9-12 mpgs
And from the video, he has at least 3 people in the truck (or was it 2 kids and thus 4?). So the miles per person are even superior.

Wow! Thanks for the tip. I'm fine with using diesel as long as it is available. My concern is for the possibility that the time may come when it is not available. Then I would like to be able to convert to vegetable oil which can be extracted from local crops and even native plants (jojoba, for example).
So other than cost, is there a downside to having the conversion done and then continuing to use diesel? I assume it allows you to switch back and forth?

Yes. It is a two-tank system, meaning that you install a second fuel tank into your vehicle. The vehicle is started on diesel or biodiesel, and after reaching operating temperatures, you switch over to vegetable oil. This prevents excessive carbon buildup on your piston heads. The vehicle can be run on diesel without ever switching if you want, and diesel can be put in the second tank if you want to, but the heat exchanger which uses engine coolant to heat the oil to thin it out will cause diesel to expand in the injector pump and wear out the seals faster, as well as reducing fuel efficiency unless you build in a bypass of the heat exchange unit.

The conversion will actually help running regular diesel if you live in minnesota or other subarctic and arctic areas as it will eliminate fuel gelling in the veggie tank. Also, it can help run Biodiesel which can gel at temps as high as 55*F. Remember you still have your original diesel system in place, and operational. You are just adding a vegetable oil system to it. The veggie system can run more than just veggie oil too. Tranny fluid, hydraulic fluid, brake fluid, motor oil, kerosene, lamp oil, animal fats (requires heated pumping system.) and many other long-chain hydrocarbons.
