Thread: Q3 $ summary for active GOP candidates - RP a solid 3

    Default Q3 $ summary for active GOP candidates - RP a solid 3

    There are three ways of looking at the Q3 picture. The amount of "Money Raised" is a good indicator of support. The amount of "Cash on Hand" shows the liquid spending potential going forward. The amount of "Cash on Hand minus Debt" shows the bottom-line financial situation. Perry and Romney are (not surprisingly) 1st & 2nd in all categories. Ron Paul is a solid 3rd in all the calculation methods. I should also note, Bachman is above Cain in all the categories. Everyone else looks somewhat grim.
    Below I assembled the breakdown for all ten candidates, ranked in order using the three categories mentioned above. I figured it would be good to have this all in one place.
    [edit: Added "Money Spent" - just for fun.
    ]
    [edit2: Adjusted Bachmann's numbers to account for her second campaign fund (yea, she has two) - Doesn't change anything.]

    Plus Paul has another million in his Congressional account if he needs it.

    Yea, but that will likely be counted in Q4, assuming he transfers it in the next few months. Regardless, RP is a solid 3rd, even if the media keeps talking about the Cain Train (which in financial reality is 5th at best.)

    He already transferred $500,000 of it in Q3, according to his FEC report:

    http://query.nictusa.com/pres/2011/Q3/C00495820.html

    The "Detailed Summary" section shows $7.67M from individual contributions and $500,000 from an authorized committee.
    Ron Paul will be remembered long after the other candidates fade into obscurity.

    I believe RP transferred some of his Congressional Campaign fund, but not all yet. I'd have to look into it, but I think he had something like 2mil in there. I think he transferred $500 in Q2, and I know he transferred $500K in Q3. Maybe he is budgeting it, dumping a bit each quarter. Or maybe he will dump all the rest in on BTO, who knows.

    Romney is definitely holding his money in the powder keg. I wonder what he is planning on spending that on down the line? Paul spent alot Q3 because part of our plan was to get ahead early, but it seems Perry and Romney really haven't spent much yet. Perry is done either way, but I am worried about Romney's 14 mil that he simply hasn't really touched.
