Thread: The Iowa College Ad Project and Grassroots Web Portal - Chip-in Included

We're streamrolling ahead with this project.

Today, I placed the orders for the ads in the Iowa State Daily (Iowa State U - Ames) and the Daily Iowan (U of Iowa - Iowa City).

As you can see in the latest version of the ad, the ad clearly and loudly advertises Ron Paul and the Iowa Caucus date, while making RonPaulCountry.com the official anchor of the ad campaign where we'd like the college kids to register with their contact/location info.

The Iowa State Daily will begin carrying our ad in print starting this Wednesday, November 30. The ad will be published in the last 9 consecutive issues of the semester before the school is out. Since I'm actually paying for 15 insertions (issues) to get a 50% discount on the daily rate, they compromised by printing our ad in two different places within the paper in some of these 9 issues to make 15 insertions total.

Starting either tonight or Tuesday, November 29, http://www.iowastatedaily.com/ will put 2 formats of our ad into rotation, with 500 hits allowed per day. The online ads will continue until December 13.

The Daily Iowan will begin carrying our ad in print and online starting tomorrow, Tuesday, November 29. The ad will be published for 10 consecutive days, both in print and online.

I've been in contact with the Northern Iowan (U of Northern Iowa - Cedar Falls, IA) today and submitted the print version of the ad to them. The guy who handles online advertising wasn't around for most of the day, so they couldn't give me any info about the sizing for online ads. They reserved space for our print ad in the 12/02, 12/06, and 12/09 issues - the last 3 issues of the year. The paper is bi-weekly.

Just saw the ad, here is a screenshot. Woot!

It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds. -Samuel Adams
