Thread: Ron Paul and pragmatism

    Post Ron Paul and pragmatism

We all love Ron Paul for his message of ending the Federal Reserve, getting rid of the income tax, shutting down various departments...etc.

But Ron Paul has said that a lot of us may be disappointed that he will be a bit more pragmatic than we are hoping for.

His solution to ending the Fed is not to shut it down, but to allow for competition. Which would eventually result in it going away or playing a much smaller role. But it is not ending the Fed right out the bat.

Ending the income tax will never happen under his watch. Not because he does not want it, but because of what would need to be done to make that happen.

His plan for the budget this past year was to keep spending at the same level. Sure, he would probably love to cut spending. But it is not possible.

So when Ron Paul comes out with his economic plan for the country. Do not be surprised if it is a bit more pragmatic than you would hope for.

He holds the principles. He understands what needs to be done. But he also needs to be realistic and set the stage for doing things that could happen with him as president, in order to become president in the first place.
Definition of political insanity: Voting for the same people expecting different results.
