Thurane here, from Phoenix, AZ. I"m Precinct Committeeman with my District GOP and supporter of Ron Paul. I believe in Constitutional government, and am more a Libertarian/Conservative Republican in the vein of Thomas Jefferson/Barry Goldwater. There are other potential candidates in the future who I believe might be good for Liberty, including Rand Paul, Dennis Kucinich & Gary Johnson.

I am also the founder of Cape Cod C Shells Inc., A Barter community based on the American Open Currency Standards concept AOCS. I support all of Ron Paul's domestic policies and most of his foreign policies. I think he would make a wonderful president and fully intend to vote for him.

Hi, I am a writer living in Montana. I've been conservative politically most of my life. I began researching Paul a few weeks ago when my son insisted the family all pick a favorite among the GOP candidates for Pres. Must admit that last time around I didn't give Paul the time of day (mostly the unelectable business). This time I couldn't get excited about any of the other candidates and out of desperation began looking into Paul more thoroughly. I think I was probably more open to him after a spate of obsessively watching Aljazeera's coverage of the Arab Spring. My thinking about our foreign policy has been shifting since, and I am more willing to examine Paul's ideas. Still some questions for me, but not enough to prevent me from becoming a Paul convert.

By the way, my son chose Bachmann; my husband Gingrich. I'm working on them!

Looking forward to getting to know some of you.

Hello, I'm a college student from Virginia and a more recent supporter of Paul. When I was younger, I never really paid attention to politics; they didn't seem to matter to me. When the 2008 elections swung around, however, I started to get more interested and I started to read up on politics. I originally took after my parents, who were very conservative, and hoped that McCain would win, although all of use knew he was far from the best candidate we could've ended up with. I couldn't vote in the 2008election, so my parents went to the polls hoping that McCain would win, and we all knew how that ended up, although looking back I can't say that we'd be in much better shape with McCain at the helm.

Anyway, with the Republican primary coming up for the 2012 elections, I started to look at the availible candidates, and none of them really appealed to me. My parents got behind Cain, but I really didn't think his plan was any good and the fact that he ignores the Federal Reserve frightened me. The other candidates all had their problems as well, so that left only one guy, and I didn't know a whole lot about him: Ron Paul. I had never really looked seriously at his believes or read about his stances on the issues, and I remembered that everyone I talked to said he was a "nut" or "crazy", including my family, friends, and professors. I wanted to know why they felt that way, so I read about him. And the more I read about him, the more I found myself agreeing with things that he said. We need to stick by the Constitution. We need to fight for our liberties. We need to bring our troops home and stop trying to police the world.

I suddenly realized that he was what we needed. I tried to fight against the belief at first, thinking of what others would think of me if I came out in support of a man they said was a nut. But the more and more I read about him and watched his speeches and saw him at the debates, the less and less I cared about what others would think of me, until I finally came out and admitted to friends and family that I supported Ron Paul and wanted him to become our next President. I do not regret it.

Ever since then, I've been talking to classmates at my college to try and get them to see the oppurtunity we have to turn around our nation and return to our Constitution and liberties with Ron Paul, and I've been working on my family as well. So far I've gotten my brother and my mother to support Ron, but I think my dad's gonna be a little tougher.

I decided to join these forums so that I could talk to others about Ron Paul, the primaries, the debates, the other candidates, the Constitution, and every other issue I can think of. I'm a young Ron Paul supporter, so there's a lot I don't know and I really want to learn more. I'm sure you guys can help me. ;D

This country for the time being can withstand high taxes, regulation and government waste thanks to our natural resources. When the gravy train runs dry and we here hit economic trouble perhaps i will rise for liberty, at the time being noone is hungry for the messege, the sheeple think things are fine and dandy.

Gene, Retired computer engineer living in Wisconsin. Service Army during Viet Nam. I see no changes in how government is destroying this country and believe politics as usual is not going to bring the changes needed to right this ship. The following is something I wrote to sum up politics in the world today called "There is a Fire in Us"
I wish any politician would have the courage and conviction to use it as a speech.
A Small voice from the Large Masses:

There is a Fire in us.
A Fire that sees the injustice, of yes, even our own, past and present, governments to do that which is right
for the future of the people that they claim they represent.
    Yes, a Fire in us.
A Fire that sees the injustice of those who would use mockery, language, thought and deeds against others
hoping to put those others into social positions below themselves.
    Yes, a Fire in us.
A Fire that sees though the false proclamations of those who would have us believe in them.
There is a Fire in us.
A Fire that sees the injustice of those who do not meet the responsibilities given to them by the elections
that placed them into the position of responsibility.
A Fire that sees the injustice of inequalities, corruption, graft and greed by those in positions of power
who would have us believe that they have special rights to be in their positions of power.
Yes, There is a Fire in us.
A Fire that sees the injustice of those protesting when having to give up their bounties collected by unjust policies, mandates and actions.
A Fire that sees the injustice of those who use unjust actions to maintain their position of power over those who they are oppressing.
Yes, There is a Fire in us.
A Fire that sees the look of love in the eyes of those who have it and knows the look in the eyes of those who do not.
A Fire that sees the false heart of those who have it - those nations, businesses, religions, societies, members
and individuals who believe they can mask the intentions of their false hearts from those that can see.
There is a Fire in us.
A Fire in us that raises us to stand for the rights of those who are exposed to the injustice brought to them by the unjust.
A Fire in us that raises us to stand though any hardship, through any injustice, through any policy, through any mandate
and through any failure to make right the injustice brought to us and to others.
There is a Fire in us that does not diminish, even through death.
Those who would have us suppress the Fire of Truth in us, have us suppress that which is Just and Right in us,
    have us suppress the Fire of Liberty in us, have us suppress, in us, the very responsibilities of our creation;
will find that the Fire that burns in the heart of us will smother the inequities created and brought to us by all who cling to falseness.
Yes, Just is the Fire in Us.

My name is Chris. I live in Mississippi and would love nothing more than to see Ron Paul win in 2012! That being said I suppose I will tell my story of how I found Ron Paul.

I got my first taste of politics in 2000 at the age of 8. I was intrigued by it and decided I would root for Bush because he was for freedom! It was really more like rooting for a sports team at that age. By 2004 I understood politics more but trusted the MSM. I thought the Patriot Act kept us safe, gay marriage was evil, and we needed to keep fighting the good fight overseas. By 2008 I became less sure of my views. Pretty soon I was going to be able to vote and needed to look at things more closely. I did not pay any attention to the primaries though and never heard about Ron Paul. I didn't like either McCain or Obama in the general and was glad I wasn't old enough to vote yet. I considered myself Republican because I wanted the government to not give out entitlements, I didn't realize there were other options until I researched.

Fast forward to present day and I have changed dramatically. After taking a test to determine political alignment for US Government in high school I found out I was borderline Libertarian. Since I was going to be able to vote soon I decided I needed to research. Curious I looked up what Libertarians believed in. I embraced it. I realized that the government should not only stay out of the economy, but foreign entanglements and personal habits as well. I no longer want the government to tell homosexuals they can not marry. I no longer want the government to tell an adult what they can and can't do to their body. I no longer want to bomb innocent civilians in foreign lands, people like you and me. I also no longer watch the MSM, I research everything for myself.

I figured I'd vote Libertarian in 2012 until I researched the Republican candidates and found Ron Paul and Gary Johnson. I was sold on Ron Paul after I found videos of him on YouTube. I loved his performances in debates from 2007, but what really impressed me was those videos of him from the 80's to today warning us of our policies and predicting so many events accurately. I instantly felt trust in Ron Paul. I can't believe I trust a politician, but I have to say I trust Ron Paul.

My name is Jack and I am a college student in Texas. I have been a fan of Ron Paul since he announced his candidacy in '07 and with his successes so far in the 2012 primary I thought I'd go ahead and register here to keep up with him and discuss the happenings and ideas surrounding him and his message with like-minded people.

I am not a libertarian but I am a supporter of Ron Paul. I am for socialism in foreign countries, but I believe that libertarianism is the correct plan for orginal american values to be implemented in this 1st world american society. I am not for socialism in america, only libertarianism in head of the US administration.

I'm Gary, 43 Florida. I do webhosting and cgi scripting. Ive understood the media, government and big business have been in bed with each other for a long time and most people are sleep walking lemmings. Ive always felt powerless and isolated about my observations and talking about it only made people avoid me more so I just go my own way. Recently I noticed how much more support ron paul is getting and for once in my life I thought, maybe there we have a chance to take the power back. Now Im quite hopeful and positive and more and more motivated to help make a change.

Hello, in 2008 I wrote Ron Paul in on my vote for president. I am an independent voter. I am not in the Tea Party or nothing like that. I actually thought that it was really ironic how it seemed the Tea Party formed and started griping about the unconstitutional misuse of power. Maybe they were around before Obama, I don't know. What was ironic about that to me was it seemed that the unconstitutional stuff was going on way before Obama. Bush was like a tyrant....You are for us or you are against us!!! ... Don't talk about conspiracy theories about 911....don't investigate 911....oh, wait a year or two and then....let Henry Kissinger investigate it....Oh, ok, an investigation that was a sham.....oh where oh where are those pesky WMDs? I was so desperate to get rid of George Bush I bought a bumper sticker for my vehicle that said "OBAMA" just to maybe pull a vote away from the republicans. I vowed to never, ever vote democrat or republican again. I wrote in Ron Paul (My man!!!!!) but knew it was a pipe dream. He wasn't even on the ticket. I voted for him anyway.
I agree with Ron Paul on property rights issue. But I wonder what his position is on property frights. You know, Monsanto suing farmers for "stealing" from them when GMO crops turn up in the field. Monsanto sends out agents to trespass and take genetic samples from the people's fields. If they find genes that are modified by Monsanto, the people are sued for stealing. Think of it this way... If I document the serial numbers from some dollar bills in my hand and then let the bills be blown onto the wind onto my neighbors property , do I have the right to send private detectives onto my neighbor's land or into his house to find my bills? If I saw the neighbor chase them down as they were blown across his property, can I call the police and have him arrested? That is basically what happens to the poor farmers. It looks to me like the NWO in action. any judge in the world who would uphold a case like this for Monsanto should be tarred and feathered because he is no friend of the people.
So, is this Tea Party a new party? Duh, it's too bad it's not. After the way Ron Paul is treated by the media, any Ron Paul supporter should either drag the Tea Party to make a new party or all change to independents.
A bit about me .... I hate Rush Limbaugh with a passion. And Dick Cheney lent him credibility by being on his show. When Obama was elected, people were saying that Rush Limbaugh inherited the republican party. I bet the republicans are real proud of that...except maybe Ron Paul. I can see why the republican party treats him as an outcast, but I can't explain why the media treats him as an outcast. Fair and balanced? Fox reports, you decide? Obviously the republicans are being denied a fair and balanced look at Ron Paul --- a republican! Gee, the networks are biting the republican hands that bought them! I guess the media are all liberal as Rush Limbaugh says!!!! They sure do not want anyone as conservative as Ron Paul as president!!!

A bit more... I am a working stiff.
    A bit more... I am a veteran.
A bit more.... I worked as a contractor for HUD years ago....I was doing sunup to sundown working three different cities and I thought it was a good start. I was supposed to make 1700 dollars for the first month. HUD dropped the contract of the company who held the HUD contracts. The company went bankrupt on me. I finally received total payments of 700 dollars through bankruptcy court over a period of about 3 years for that first month. A couple of months later, I got a call and started working for the next company to get the contracts. After a few months, I got a call saying I would soon be receiving less money for my services. I told them, too bad, find someone else, I quit. I really was in depression. Then I felt like something was wrong with the United States business climate and something more.... I researched at my local library for about a year, learning how to use the internet. I eventually went to college and earned a degree in graphic design. I haven't made any money doing that, though and I owe a pile of student debt. I am a real happy camper working as a janitor, production worker, cleanup man, painter, etc.

I have noticed all this stupid back and forth that the media is used to deliver to we the people over the last few years. You people are fat, you people neeed to get a job. (Occupy Wall Street protesters were thrown McDonald's applications. Hey , I applied there, they weren't interested I guess) I applied for the DHS back when they started up. I guess they didn't want a veteran with no criminal record. I guess I should have said I was a child molester. Sometime before 2001 , when I was depressed, I woke up to see a story headline in the local paper, "HUD loses 59 billion dollars" !! (lost, misplaced) Not as bad as pentagon losing 2 trllion bucks day before 911, but, hey at least Ilook at the positive side of SOME things!
wow that cheered me up. I thought, "and the (original) company I worked contracts for "wasn't doing what they were supposed to?" The second company told me when I quit, "..but..you're our best worker....go figure. And now I live in public housing. (HUD) Ironic isn'tit? <notice! So now I guess I have to listen to Newt spoon feed me a lesson on how to get work....or how I'm a welfare bum..! Veteran, Yes, Working, yes, bum, yes.

Anyway, its no wonder I see threads about "America haters." You have to understand I love to ride "The Spider" at the carnival, but if it won't stop or throws me out I will hate it. That doesn't mean I have to hate the whole carnival. Fire the mechanic and I'll be happy. But the thing is, if the United States is compared to the carnival...the mechanic would be given a raise, i would be scolded and spied upon to see if I was going to get mad and be a "Spider hater." I would have the Department of Homeland Security harrass me at every carnival for getting sick or injured.

In my view of America, if Mitt I-love-to-fire-people-Romney gets elected or Newt -don't-ask-about-my-ex-Gingrich is the nominee, the whole democratic republic idea is "toast". revolution time...and President Obama just signed the NDAA to rub the patriot act and the NDAA stealing of our right to a trial by a jury of our peers!!!! And Leiberman and McCain want to be able to strip our citizenship? And the TSA is running roadblocks and scanning people with X-rays at airports and now huge x-ray machines will be hitting us as we go down the road? Will our doctors be faxed the frequency of dosages we get?

    Will this ride please stop?

Not one mention in history of a steel framed building collapsing by fire alone.....the buliding #7 in the World Trade Center collapsed on 911 when it was not hit by a plane...hmmm , you don't get an explanation for that/ not in the 911 investigation report? George Bush has disrespected the families of 911 victims by not answering thier questions? slow down, Spider I want off that republican/democrat SPIDER!

Ron Paul has stated that he will not run as an independent , but if any of you RP supporters switch your vote to one of those other pretend to be conservatives it would be stupid, not foolish. I actually would try to be a RP delegate but I won't switch from independent to republican to do it.
If Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination, you should switch to independent party. I don't see why everyone who is not bought out doesn't switch to the independent parties and support the Declaration of Independence.

Most I have written since college. You all take care, I hope RP does better here in Kentucky. Go Ron! And by the way, Senator Rand Paul actually sent me a reply to an email that I believe he or a staffer actually read. That's a first for me. In the past no one seemed to give a reply that I could be sure wasn't an computer autoreply. I have recieved letters from Kentucky politicians that didn't even seem to reply to my letter--maybe someone else's letter, but not mine. I am not saying that was the case all the time, but more often than not I felt like it was a joke..

The second company told me when I quit, "..but..you're our best worker....go figure.

TFK have you ever thought of being a freelance writer? You are seriously really good.

Thanks, my grammar was not really great, and I don't write that much, but its my life slipping by. It pisses me off, and makes for a good little rant. Today I watched Jon Stewart on the Daily Show. Watch it every day now. Old Mitt Romney makes $57, 000 a day. I bet he would not relate to people like me. If I had $57,000 dollars I could pay off my student loans . Buy a new car, see a dentist for the first time in at least twelve years, and buy some art supplies. But the way things are going, my whole life will probably not see another $57,000. It's hard to not get mad about it. Every day lately is the same. I am so tired of it all, I work cleaning up production lines at a liquor bottling facility and when I get home I am so tired . My feet hurt bad. I don't want to get out of my chair for two hours at least. I read about Ron Paul and see how the system is gamed against him. I see a little bit of his situation . He can influence the public awareness by hanging in there. But really, he's like me. He's an older man ( I am fifty) and America seems to be like American Idol. I wonder can people see the value in this old man? I see a lot of value in Ron Paul. His problem is he is principled. That can be a real bad thing to achieve American Idol status. I think maybe Ron Paul should put on a football outfit at the next debate. Some padding should make him more attractive to the American mindset. He needs some voice lessons to have a Clint Eastwood style. That high pitch voice of his doesn't appeal to the audience. But his word's are true. Maybe he could get one of those computer voice changers like Jesse Ventura demonstrates on his show "Conspiracy theory." Or wear a batman suit. If I could afford that stuff maybe I would try that. Unfortunately I can't even afford a new carpet for my truck. If this iMac computer breaks, I will have to fix it myself, or do without. My graphic design skills are becoming rusty. I better stop now . I'm tired. Time to go and watch Star Trek Voyager to forget this existence and then crash and play janitor again. Thanks.

Welcome to the forums! Like you said, you've been a member for quite some time, but it's always good to have a formal welcome.

TFK, great posts on your part. Don't give up... ever! Things seem bleak for a lot of people, and you yourself seem to be in a tight spot. Hang in there, please. I have hope in my heart that things will work out right in the end, but maybe it's because I'm a young person. I think that's why Ron Paul gets so much youth support, is because we are fresh on the political scene and Ron Paul is the only principled man in a sea of corruption, and that gives us hope that Ron Paul can lead a new generation of voters to a better America. But I want you to know that I'm praying for you, man, just like I'm praying that America can claw and climb it's way out of the womb of evil that it's currently ensared inside.

Oh... and welcome to the forums!
