It depends what they define as rich. If it is raising taxes on someone like O'Reilly and the end result is that he quits, then maybe in this one case it is worth it until Ron Paul gets back in and over turns everything.

So he is against a tax on the rich while campaigning on his show for a VAT on everyone which will hurt the poor and middle class. God forbid that poor people are not paying their fair share for Bill O'Reilly's beloved globalist empire and his support of decadent federal spending, departments and programs here at home.

One thing I have to say about O'Reilly is that he is a brilliant Socialist since he has some how fooled so many people to believing he is a Conservative. His beliefs are no different from the hardcore Socialist hosts on MSNBC. The only difference is the hosts on MSDNC either admit they are Socialist or are pretty obvious about it.

EDIT: correction, not the only difference, he is pro-life, so I give him credit for that at least.

As Peter Schiff would say ....

DO NOT raise taxes during a recession.

The country doesnt need more income right now.

It needs less spending, and more consumer SAVING.

  18. #16
Yeah, what everyone else is saying. This is the best argument I've heard for supporting Obama's tax plan.

I figured that O'Reilly would be using the popular GOP talking point about the poor paying their fair share. "Raise income taxes on ditch-diggers! Lower income taxes to zero for Hedge-fund managers!" And the irony is that they like to negatively label things "class warfare", while they engage in just that. It is class warfare, and guess which "class" is winning?

In Talking Points, the opening segment of each of his shows, O'Reilly said Monday he wants the federal government to get more money - just not from him.
From the working poor and middle class instead, O'Really?

Exactly. I remember him saying "50%" or "half the country is not paying their fair share" and "for things such as....".

I remember yelling at the TV that I never asked for, use, want or believe in "those things" so I should not be forced to pay for them. If these talking heads want so badly the things their beloved federal government provides then they should fund an non-governmental organization to provide it and leave the rest of us alone.

    I can ignore that dip.

I can't ignore the higher taxes, directly imposed or passed along as higher costs.

it would have to be re-named "The O'Reilly Tax," if Obama really wanted to sell it.

Nah. I never watch that dumbass, anyway.

Now, if he threatened to shoot himself ... live, on-air.

    hmmmm.

Yes, damn those peons! They sit on their asses all day, and it's their own fault they're poor because they're stupid... otherwise they wouldn't be poor!

Sarcasm aside, I hate when some conservatives blame the poor and middle class for leeching off the system. If there's one thing those people need to take away from their apparent love of Ayn Rand, it's that moochers are present at *all* levels, and the more damaging moochers tend to reside in the upper crusts of society. The rich who enjoy government privileges and benefits ultimately are more of a drain on the system than anyone else IMHO. Of course both are bad, but they're trying to assign the blame to the wrong people.
