Angry ARRESTED for recording a PUBLIC meeting!

Apparently it is now illegal to record or take pictures of government authorities in open meetings. Ever heard of sunshine laws?

Can citizens arrest police officers if police officers are breaking the law?

    *Wikipedia says...
    United States
Each state, with the exception of North Carolina, permits citizen arrests if the commission of a felony is witnessed by the arresting citizen, or when a citizen is asked to assist in the apprehension of a suspect by police. The application of state laws varies widely with respect to misdemeanors, breaches of the peace, and felonies not witnessed by the arresting party. For example, Arizona law allows a citizen's arrest if the arrestor has personally witnessed the offense occurring. [35]
American citizens do not carry the authority or enjoy the legal protections held by police officers, and are held to the principle of strict liability before the courts of civil- and criminal law including, but not limited to, any infringement of another's rights.[36] Nonetheless many citizens' arrests are popular news stories and criminal prosecutions in clearly justifiable cases are rare.[37]
Though North Carolina General Statutes have no provision for citizens' arrests, detention by private persons is permitted and applies to both private citizens and police officers outside their jurisdiction.[38] Detention is permitted where probable cause exists that one has committed a felony, breach of peace, physical injury to another person, or theft or destruction of property.[39] Detention is different from an arrest in that in a detention the detainee may not be transported without consent.

They can try, though, they will probably end up dead for trying.

Why is this happening so frequently recently? Is it because we're just noticing it more? Or are we witnessing a new shift in the police state? A part of me feels that we're being pushed and pushed to the point that we're going to be baited into reacting hostile towards them, which will only justify their harsh reaction.

Every last person in attendance at that meeting is a COWARD! They see injustice occuring and they just stand there like it's a sporting event. Im getting tired of the "its not my problem" mentality going around. It's not their problem...until they are the ones being arrested. Sickening.

    you are correct sir.

funny, a political group i meet with was having a strategy meeting today. we were talking about the very thing recorded in this video potentially happening in our city council meetings. the audio the council gives out when requested has been known to be been edited in my town and we're trying to figure out a way to have our own record.

Looks like a target to me.
Out of every one hundred men they send us, ten should not even be here. Eighty will do nothing but serve as targets for the enemy. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, upon them depends our success in battle. But one, ah the one, he is a real warrior, and he will bring the others back from battle alive.

Was reading a few months back, in Car and Driver I think it was, that the first speed cameras in the US were installed in Texas back in the 1980s and taken down within months due to being shot to $#@!.

    Oh, how we've fallen.

Look where they put those things - in large cities known to be socialist hell holes. They hope the spirit of resistance ebbs due to infection by those moving to free areas to escape the hell holes and have become inculcated in the socialist meme.

ETA: It wasn't me - I was stationed in Germany at the time. But, I approve of the actions of those who did it, and in fact may have known people who would do such a thing.

Tyrants in their own little fiefdom. Anything DC related is so tainted with corruption that it's hard to get anything positive done.
