Thread: DARPA: Freedom's most dangerous enemy

Thumbs down DARPA: Freedom's most dangerous enemy

Those folks at DARPA are constantly hard at work looking for new ways to counter "asymmetric threats." At the moment that generally refers to low-tech but resilient foreigners who don't like having the US Imperial Forces occupying their lands. But of course any technology developed by DARPA can just as easily be used against "asymmetric threats" at home, such as domestic insurgents who are trying to resist a tyrannical government.

Here are some examples of high-tech projects that have been funded in recent years in the quest for total control of human populations:

    (1) "VisiBuilding"

This is radar technology that allows government forces to map the insides of urban structures (rooms, walls, etc.) from outside. It can also allow them to search for people, weapons caches, etc.:

    (2) "Human ID at a Distance"

This is just what it sounds like:

The goal of the Human Identification at a Distance (HumanID) program is to develop automated biometric identification technologies to detect, recognize and identify humans at great distances. These technologies will provide critical early warning support for force protection and homeland defense against terrorist, criminal, and other human-based threats, and will prevent or decrease the success rate of such attacks against DoD operational facilities and installations. Methods for fusing biometric technologies into advanced human identification systems will be developed to enable faster, more accurate and unconstrained identification of humans at significant standoff distances.

    (3) Sniper-detection systems like "C-Sniper" and "Boomerang" are intended to render the Second Amendment moot by making a crucial asymmetric tactic much more difficult to get away with:

Many cities in the US already use gunshot detection sensor networks such as "Shotspotter."

    (4) Got a hiding place in the deep forest? Then you need to worry about foliage-penetrating radar:

These examples just scratch the surface. Our tax dollars are literally being used to enslave us with technology. It's scarcely an exaggeration to say that the government is acquiring godlike powers, and all "rights" just might become privileges in our lifetime.

If anything can be done about this, I think an important first step is to spread the word that merely owning guns and ammo isn't enough. More freedom-lovers in America and around the world need to start learning about these new high-tech threats and start thinking hard about countermeasures.
