The Hill on Rand's speech:
read more:Sen. Paul condemns Patriot Act as unconstitutional
By Josiah Ryan - 05/23/11 05:27 PM ET
Freshman Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) condemned the Patriot Act as unconstitutional Monday and urged his colleagues to oppose leadership from both parties and vote against its renewal.
"We were so frightened by 9/11 we readily gave up these freedoms and we said we would let the government look at our records," Paul said from the Senate floor. "The Patriot Act takes away some of the protections provided by the Fourth Amendment. Do we really want to give up our liberties in exchange for more security?"
In particularly Paul objected to a provision that allows the federal government automatic access to wire-transfers on sums that exceed $5,000.
"The hell they aren't private," exclaimed Paul referring to the banking records. "They should be private. If you look at my Visa records you can tell if I go to the doctor, what kind of medication I take and what kind of books I order from Amazon."

I spoke with Congressman Guthrie today about the Patriot Act. I didn't have to speak with Senator Paul. Guess why. Brett was open and didn't like the picture I painted on some things. Here is hoping he changes his vote.
Visit my website, the revolution is happening over there. At least some pretty pictures are there. www.FMNKY.com
Obviously Rand is a racist teabagger that wants Al-Qaeda to win so when they take over they'll oppress women.
That's the real reason why he's supporting "civil liberties" so Al-Qaeda makes Kentucky's women wear burqas. The women of Kentucky deserve an explanation!!!
"The president does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.""Attack Libya"
"We can track down terrorists without trampling on our civil liberties. To show the American people that the federal government will only issue warrants and execute searches because it needs to, not because it can.""Need to murder and/or indefinitely detain citizens" ~ Barack H. Obama
incredible speech
Is it common to say 'Well the hell they aren't!" on the Senate floor? Or is he starting a new trend?
Now we need to get at least 59 more like him into the Senate and a Paul into the White House.

"Integrity means having to say things that people don't want to hear & especially to say things that the regime doesn't want to hear.” -Ron Paul
"Bathtub falls and police officers kill more Americans than terrorism, yet we've been asked to sacrifice our most sacred rights for fear of falling victim to it." -Edward Snowden
Do you think he'll get scolded by dad when he gets home?
I was just seduced by Rand Paul. This was a great speech. Oh, Rand, how perfect you'd be in this presidential race.
Washington doesn't change Rand Paul. Rand Paul changes Washington.
