Thumbs up Wallace: S.C. Just applauded for Heroin! (No they applauded for Freedom)

    Fact
    John Adams:

There is danger from all men. The only maxim of a free government ought to be to trust no man living with power to endanger the public liberty.

    Thomas Jefferson:

No man has a natural right to commit aggression on the equal rights of another, and this is all from which the laws ought to restrain him.

Here's how the times covered it.

...Mr. Paul also brought up the legalization of heroin. “How many people here would use heroin if it was legal?” he asked the audience, which again erupted in applause.

Makes it sounds like everyone wants to use heroin.

    I left a comment.
The line about people applauding Ron Paul's stance on ending the drug war is misleading. The applause came after he sarcastically said, "I need the government to take care of me - I don't want to use heroin, so I need these drug laws."

For too long, the implication has been that if we stop imprisoning people for simple drug use, everyone will suddenly want to use drugs! This is ridiculous and Ron Paul has the courage to say so...
