The interesting thing is, this time round, Rand can say the things Ron can't or shouldn't. Rand has already been called upon to comment on his dad's ticket, he can later comment on anything that happens in the debates.
Rand can dump on other candidates with clever comebacks, so Ron does not have to be the one to, for instance, alienate Trump's fans.
The disgusting thing is, CNN using Trump to say "He can't win" so they don't have to.
