If they wanna be safe, don't be a miner at all.
If they want to force these regulations it'll just lead to less jobs in the industry as wages are gonna be hard to lower.
Obviously the miners could strike a deal with the companies whereby the companies raise the safety measures but lower the pay.

The comments on the article are typical crap from people who have no clue how society or economics actually works.

Huff Po has become the equivilent to the Freepers. It is a hive mind with no analytical ability except by a very few of their commenters, and a Dem echo chamber story stream.

There are a few writers there, very few, who don't hit that description, but this is a standard 'if you don't throw money at it you hate the people you aren't throwing money at' type story. Why can't the states pass any needed regulations?
