Default C4L re: recent vote on Rand's Libya res-Senators Terrified to Vote on Rand Paul Resolution

    http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=41541

Moments ago, the U.S. Senate voted overwhemingly to table (kill) Rand Paul's resolution that simply asserts that the Senate agrees with the following 2007 statement from then-Senator Barack Obama:

The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.

    Nothing more. Nothing less.

The Senate defines "tabling a motion" as:

The motion is used to dispose quickly of questions the Senate does not wish to consider further.

Not only has the Senate completely abdicated its constitutional duties when it comes to war, but it has now openly admitted it is scared to even hold a vote on a simple statement.

Apparently, the Senate is a-ok with being steamrolled by President Obama and the United Nations. I guess they can only reserve enthusiasm for bills to tell the rest of us what to do with our lives.

Meanwhile, the Air Force alone continues to spend $4 million dollars a day on a third war with no clear objective, no consistent leadership, and no constitutional authority.

Only 9 other senators, including Mike Lee and Jim DeMint, were brave enough to stand with Rand Paul to defend the Constitution and common sense today.
These were the votes on our side:

    Rand
    Lee
    De Mint
    Johnson (the tea party one)
    Sessions
    Moran
    Tooney
    Snow
    Collins
    Ensign

Pretty sad that only ten would side with the Constitution...another sign (as if we needed another) that Dems and Repubs are two wings on the same albatross around Liberty's neck. War is eternal.

All Republicans. Some of them even support the previous interventions elsewhere. Interesting.

I thought democrats were supposed to be for peace.

    Im a bit lost.

A yea vote means they don't agree with Rand?

I cant find where it states:

The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.

Scumbags should be thrown on the front lines. Americans are too fucking stupid to even notice, hopefully they'll bring back the draft and shove American rabble on the front lines so they can pay for their epic stupidity.
