The NH House passed HB 113 to end government funding of public television in New Hampshire by a vote of 262 to 102.

The only sponsor of the bill is one of the most well known State Representatives (if not the most well known) in NH, libertarian Steve Vaillancourt of Manchester.


In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eleven

AN ACT prohibiting the use of state funds for New Hampshire public television.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Budget and Appropriations; Funding Limitation. Amend RSA 9 by inserting after section 17-f the following new section:

9:17-g Funding for Public Television Prohibited. No state general funds shall be appropriated or expended for the purpose of funding New Hampshire public television.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
