Wow. 23 minutes. I'll have to come back to this!

    Yeah, great interview.

I hope he makes the most of his time in the Senate by writing more books, starting new and exciting PACs, engaging in debates and just all-round continues to be awesome!

Read it. Good book. Takes Teddy Roosevelt down quite a few pegs. And coming from the author who wrote the popular military history books Flyboys and Flags of Our Fathers, his regular readers sure seemed to hate this books theme blowback from intervention.

Does anyone still doubt that Rand is his father's son?

Someone I know was mad at Rand about this saying:

I can't believe Rand is defending abolitionists!. So he thinks 600,000 casualties during the War to Prevent Southern Independence was just ducky? I suppose he admires the rebellion in Haiti also. where he denounces Henry Clay for "compromising" to preserve the Union as opposed to his cousin Cassius Clay who was a rabid Abolitionist, and is proud of William Lloyd Garrison for dragging an unwilling Lincoln toward abolitionism. Too PC for me. I don't know whose support he is thinking to garner by these remarks. Certainly not mine.
    Thoughts?

So why doesn't this guy support the abolition of slavery?

Wow. Hands down the best interview of Rand I've seen.

I'm really happy to hear Rand say that "constitutional conservative" means "libertarian" to him and I'm happy to hear that his long term goal is elimination of social security.

OK, that is a great interview. I didn't have 23 minutes in a string to watch it, before, but it was worth the wait.

I'd be happy about it to if that vote for Iran sanctions wasn't unconstitutional and an act of war. Act of war with no declaration = unconstitutional. I think he means his version of "constitutional conservative" means "Objectivist", because that's a foreign policy they advance. Libertarians are against unconstitutional sanctions, last I checked.

The Constitution specifically gives Congress the authority "to regulate Commerce with foreign Nations". There's nothing unconstitutional about Congress voting to restrict or even totally ban trade with Iran.

Rand Paul-Correct on 99 out of 100 votes-Not good enough for "Pro Individual."

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think economic sanctions involve more than simply not trading with a certain country.

I agree with you. I see some elements of Ayn Rand in Rand, and those are the worst parts of I him, I think. I'm with you there. I'm no fan of her either. Also I'm not in the Rand Paul cult, just a member of the liberty movement going forward.
