Geologist: West Coast Quake Likely To Happen This Month [Video]

He believes mass fish deaths predict earthquake activity. Very interesting.

Was visiting the Urban Survival site this morning and ran into an interesting link to another possible web bot link that coincides with this video. So in looking into I ran into a site that ties in (of sorts) with your above posted video. Think of it as pessimism porn or information for preparation depending on your viewpoint. Any who the thought is that there is major language release about March 25th. This site http://earthchanges.ning.com/profile...-inner-core-is ties the language predictors together regarding the present events being precursors to a major earthquake as per the web bot project.

If I was on the west coast I would probably consider a vacation to parts eastward for a bit. When the universe gives you several indicators of foul winds up ahead I have a tendency to pay heed.

It is when everyone is talking about something major which happens.

Imagine a 9.0 and equivalent tsunami hitting SF or LA. Crikey!

As I live in SoCal, I'd rather not.

Oh. So how does that relate to predicting that an earthquake is about to happen? I just don't get how they're connected.

They've been predicting "the big one" since the 1994 quake. Nothing to see here.

From Seattle to SanFran, everyone on the West Coast accepts the eventual advent of the Big One...

Not a matter of if, but only when.

    Que Sera, Sera!

Easy to say. But when the thing actually happens, they sing a different tune.

You would have to look into the idea behind how the web bot project works. Some spiritual streams believe that which you speak you make manifest. It is a similar concept behind the web bot project. They cull through tons of information from language cues and try to make predictions on future events. If you look at the link: http://earthchanges.ning.com/profile...-inner-core-is it explains the correlation between some web bot predictions and the quake in Japan and the earth's core. It is intriguing but speculative so take it fwiw.

Then, regarding the initial video there is also the supermoon theory for the 19th of this month.

I think the viewpoint of the guy in the video is the most predictive if you are looking for precursors. Animal behavior is very indicative of natural disturbances that are beyond the perception of your average Joe. We have a dog who can sense thunderstorms in advance and proceeds to freak out. She is better than the advance warning system for tornadoes. People use to be much more in tune with their animals and nature. Now we look to the experts. Not an advance for our species, imo.

    Well, certainly.

But spend your waking hours in a panic for years on end? Not for me.

I'm just curious, but how many miles inland did the Tsnuami waves near the epicenter in Japan travel? I'm not too familar with California, but which places would be in the most trouble? Some places have seawalls, and others don't.

Well of course, but you can't plan the what. There are laws to have 3 days food on hand for employees and students, in case of need, emergency responders for schools etc. You can only do so much in advance.

The places where the tsunami went furthest inland were very flat. How far in it goes depends on topography and the height of the wave. I am about a mile from the CA coastline but sit on a hill so it would have to be more than twice as high as the Japanese tsunami to reach my place.

Even if no "Big One" shakes California any time soon, it is only a matter of time until the Yellowstone Supervolcano erupts and covers most of the American West and Mid-West in deadly pulverized rock and ash.

Tidal forces, which he mentions in this video are something to look out for. They are strong enough to create the internal friction that fuels volcanoes and other geologic activity, so it's definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Reminds me of a short story I read years ago. An earthquake expert working in southern Cali, and he and his associate, Mr. Simmons, are arguing over some earthquake data they have been studying...

Anyway. the Big One, hits, and the protaganist spends most of the short story trying to get to the east side of the fault line, which is very close as their lab was positioned pretty much on the fault. Anyway, something falls on him and knocks him out before he gets to the fault line.

When he comes to he finishes getting out of the building and walks over to the faul line...and nothing but ocean to tthe EAST...and the final line of the story is him saying "Damn. Simms was right."
