Exclamation 60 cities to mark Israeli Apartheid week March 14-18 , what about Egyptian dictator week?

Apparently 60 cities in US, UK, Canada and around the world are celeberating March14-18 as Israel Apartheid Week with much of the fuss at university campuses and other liberal hot spots.

Question for those who planned these dates:

    - Granted democracy is unfolding there but why there was no Egyptian dictatorship week planned in previous 7 years and only Israel was singled out?

    - More importantly, in many schools this is the spring break kick off season, who in the world plans a boycott week same week as spring break activities?

Why don't we have "Stop Obsessing About the Middle East Week."

You think Americans can handle that? We might realize how much our lives suck and start our own government ousting revolution.

Most Americans don't give a rat's ass about the Middle East and haven't for years, if they ever have. You've got it made in the US if folks who know stuff, and are offended by, our disgusting foreign policy bothers you.

Many Americans are starting to pay more attention to our mideast, foreign policy lately with increasing loss of liberties and economic costs of that policy.

BBC poll shows Western public opinion hardening against Israel

Only 14% of the British have a positive view of Israel, with 66% having a negative opinion, according to an international survey; and the number expressing negative views of Israel rose by 16% from the previous year. This increasingly unfavourable perception of the zionist state was shown also in the other Western countries included in the survey, even in the USA.

Growing signs of Israeli occupation end, Palestinian State recognition by Sept 11

Some pundits had predicted in opinion pieces after 9/11 that Israeli occupation was going to end in few years time, it seemed too incredible a prediction then. There are growing signs now that a free Palestinian state would be in place and recognized by nations of the world before Sept 2011 , making it a tragic landmark as that month would mark 10th anniversary of a tragic time in history:

Israelis have been taking some mild steps to pull back some of the extremists encroaching on occupied land but lilkely scenario is that by Sept 2011 if much of the world has recognized free Palestinian State, Palestinians will declare independence with blessing of most of the world and US will be forced to recognize. What Israel will do remains to be seen but they don't have any choice but to face reality. Even some radical Israeli occupation supporters are getting scared with increasing propspects of one state solution. More and more reports of arab-jewish dating are coming as jewish settlers with their families move deeper into occupied Arab territories with fast growing population of young arab men. If Jewish racial identity can't be preserved, much of remaining foreign lobbies support for occupation would collapse. After 9/11, stream of new Russian jewish immigrants to settlements came to almost a complete halt. With new demographic challange and increased racial mixing opportunities in settlements ( LINK ) , the scary thought of a mixed society and a Palestinian arab muslim or christian getting elected as top leader of Israel becomes a buzz kill for many of the zealots supporting open-ended occupation. Election of even someone like Barak Hussein Obama with an arab muslim father would mean collapse of Israel as the promised land that many foreign lobbies support.

Growing Fear of One Binational State Solution with no segregation between races

Besides increased US/European pressure on Israel for ending occupation of arab lands post 9/11, another driving factor for more Israelis to support creation of a segregated Palestinian State is the realization that keeping racial segregation as well as the settlements is becoming an impossible task. New settlements are leading to increased narriages and dating activities between arab men and daughters, sisters of jewish settlers. This trend threatens to make Israel an arab majority state with no segregation between the races iin a defacto one state solution if Israel does not remove settlements and end occupation soon.

Vigilantes Patrol For Jewish Women Dating Arab Men

Throughout Israel, young Jewish men are forming vigilante groups to end interracial relationships between Arab men and Jewish women, which are occurring with increased frequency as Jewish settlements dig deeper into Arab territory. The vigilantes say Arabs lure Jewish women with money and "bad boy" personalities.

Netanyahu: Binational state would be disastrous for Israel

Netanyahu has warned in recent days during closed meetings that “a binational state would be disastrous for Israel,” and therefore it is necessary to undertake a political move that will remove this threat.
In recent weeks the prime minister has come under intense international pressure over Israel’s policies. Europe’s unequivocal stance against Israel at the Security Council vote on the issue of the settlements, the rebuke that accompanied the U.S. veto, and the unpleasant telephone exchange with German Chancellor Angela Merkel last week reportedly shook Netanyahu.

Moreover, the European Union, Russia and the United Nations are working together to push through an unprecedented agreement during the Quartet’s meeting in Paris in a week. According to the draft of the agreement that is being passed between the parties, the Quartet will declare that a Palestinian state will be established on the basis of the 1967 borders, with some land swaps.

In some of the drafts East Jerusalem is mentioned as the capital of the Palestinian state.

In private talks recently, Netanyahu has reportedly begun discussing the growing threat of a binational state.

“This trend will intensify and become stronger,” Netanyahu told his advisers. “However there are those in Israel who think that one state is a good idea. I think it is a disaster.”
