From a Romney e-mail:
As of this month, 14 million Americans can't find work.
This past week, we learned that the unemployment rate has just fallen one-tenth of a percent, from 9 percent to 8.9 percent. As I wrote in a new Boston Herald op-ed Tuesday, although unemployment has fallen, it's fallen to a level that is still, by any historical marker, a national disaster.
Where do we go from here? As we move into the third year of the Obama administration, I hope that the President and Congress will focus on getting Americans back to work. The President delegated that job over the last two years to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. Their out-of-control fiscal policies scared employers and created increased economic uncertainty. In November, Americans sent a message loud and clear and elected a new class of conservative leaders to Washington.
We cannot stop there. With your help, we must continue to support candidates who believe in smaller government and are working to create jobs.
Today, my PAC sent out yet another wave of contributions to 45 Republicans in Congress who received a total of $93,000 in donations. These contributions came on top of the $208,000 that was delivered to 90 U.S. Senate and House Republicans since the start of 2011, bringing our year-to-date donations to federal candidates to more than $300,000.
Your support gives us the resources to build upon gains made during the 2010 elections and allows us to give critical support to candidates who will help to put Americans back to work. Please donate $25, $50, $100 or more today to join our effort.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best,
Mitt Romney
