Did Ron Paul vote for big oil subsidies?

I would just like a clarification and I figure somebody here knows. Daily Kos is often full of $#@!.

    http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/0...-oil-subsidies

EDIT: Yes Daily Kos is full of $#@!. No Ron Paul didn't vote for oil subsidies. But people on the internets are pointing to this article and bashing Ron Paul. I needed a quick response for them - so don't bash me

Nope, he was there and he voted with the rest of the Republicans. I am SO sure there's a reason - I just want to know what it is:

The vote was on whether to recommit the bill with instructions, which means that it would have been sent back to the committee and redebated.

Here is an explanation on a motion to recommit:

I am wondering if its a tax cut and not a subsidy. We all know how liberal view taxes, giving people back some of their money in the form of a tax cut equates to a govt giveaway.

Anyway, am not surprised that someone with a ronpaulCULT for his username would be bringing this up.

Thank you. So to be clear, this vote wasn't to pass the bill, it was just the Democrats trying to send the bill back to committee? And Ron Paul voted no, don't send it back....and they will vote on it later and he will probably vote against passing it (I would assume).

    So when Daily Kos says:

0: Number of Republicans Who Voted To Cut Taxpayer Subsidies for Big Oil.
    They are full of $#@!?

DailyKOS is usually full of $#@!, so yes.

The motion to recommit with instructions is a tactic used to get politicians on record for a particular vote. There's basically two parts to the vote...one, to send the bill back to the committee and two, to debate on the amendment. So what Daily Kos says is not 100% true and not 100% false. It's like when Ron Paul voted against the entire financial reform bill. It's hard to say that since he voted against financial reform that he voted against auditing the fed.

Ron Paul already voted No on the entire resolution to cut $4 billion and extend the government for another two weeks. Here's the roll call vote:

I think the amendment repealed tax breaks to oil companies as well, which would be the same as a tax increase. Ron votes against all tax increases.
