Drew Carey is the one liberty candidate who can win the Republican nomination and beat Sherrod Brown in Ohio in 2012! As Ohio's favorite son, Drew could take the seat if he wanted it. I'm sure The Price Is Right is a lot of fun for him, but this is a higher calling!

It's my understanding that he keeps a residence in both CA and OH. If he indeed no longer has a residence in OH, then he can still get an OH residence again this year and get on the ballot. In fact, you can get legal residence in a state and run at the very last minute if you need to. Alan Keyes moved from Maryland to Illinois only 86 days before the general election in order to run for Senate in 2004.

Brown, who's expected to be a top Republican target next year, currently leads all of his rumored GOP opponents by at least 15 points, according to numbers from Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling (PPP).

Brown leads Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted and comedian Drew Carey by 15 points — 49 percent to 34 percent. Carey was floated as a candidate by a libertarian group earlier this year, but has denied any interest in a Senate run.

Drew Carey may be trailing by 15 points, but everyone else is trailing by much larger margins:

"Other rumored contenders trail Brown by larger margins. Brown leads State Treasurer Josh Mandel 48 percent to 32 percent, Rep. Steve LaTourette 48 percent to 30 percent and he leads both Rep. Jim Jordan and Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor by 19 points."
