    Gingrich calls for replacing EPA

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110125/..._gingrich_iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa – Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich called Tuesday for the elimination of the Environmental Protection Agency, which he wants to replace with a new organization that would work more closely with businesses and be more aggressive in using science and technology.
    Replace?
Don't let others get you down. Not naysayers, not pretenders, not appeasers, not opportunists; none of em.

What others do pales beside what YOU do.

Press on! - The r3VOLution continues...

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."

    What he really intends:
DES MOINES, Iowa – Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich called Tuesday for the elimination of the Environmental Protection Agency, which he wants to replace with a new organization that would work more closely with select, politically-connected businesses and be more aggressive in using science and technology.

"Aggressive" is a bad word to use when selling a bureaucracy to the public -- unless the cause is popular.

The no backbone Republicans seem to have dropped any talk of abolishing the department of education. Instead we have guys like Gingrich that would replace a government entitity such as the EPA with a politically friendly corporation of their chosing. So we move from one accountable but corrupt organization to a unaccountable corrupt model.

Sounds like welfare reform all over again where we lost more of our freedoms and tax dollars while his corporate buddies made a fortune.

    lol

And the Constitutional authority is found where again?

Newt is among the very worst the Republicans have to offer. So he will probably be the nominee.

The Republicans have this mantra of "repeal and replace" all the time.

    "Repeal" works just fine.

Ya really why replace? We all know the EPA needs to be seriously humbled and neutered hardcore at the very least...abolished is more appropriate. Replace sounds pretty nasty especially coming from Newt....he is a lil far left field in this area, his idea of replace probably would be a statist sick prank.

Oh and by all means lets not stop with the EPA...FDA DOE(Energey and Education), commerce, agriculture,...and of course the FCC all of them need their powers stripped from them. I have had it with unelected, unaccountable agencies powergrabbing and doing things which even the congress cannot politically do. Obama has used agencies on multiple occasions to bypass congress....it is an abuse.

And more than likely this has been commonplace...but it's time it stopped. Take all those rotten agencies, strip them of their power, downsize them and stuff them in one crumby building in DC....they can print a monthly newsletter and bitch about everything. But they must be stopped everyone of them.

    +rep all around.
Newt had his chance over a decade ago and didn't get it done then, and he doesn't seem to get it w/regard to this latest proposal.
