China Proudly Shuts Down Over 60,000 Porn Sites

"China believes it's been making progress in censoring lewd content from the Web. Since launching an aggressive crackdown in December 2009, China has shut down over 60,000 porn websites, according to the country's state-run Xinhua News agency.

"Our campaign has been a great success and this has not been achieved easily," said Wang Chen, head of the State Council Information Office. "We have made the Internet environment much cleaner than before as there was a lot of pornography available."

It isn't just pornographic websites that China's been targeting. Xinhua claims law enforcement officials across China have destroyed some 36.39 million copies of pirated or illegal publications, audio, and video discs, Xinhua reports."

Overpopulation is a myth that justifies unlibertarian policies like telling people how many kids one can have.

What angers me just as much however is the underpopulation crowd. Those who want people without kids to pay more taxes. They're just as unlibertarian as the overpopulation crowd.

Reproduction is a personal choice. Let people have as many or as few kids as they want, just don't make me pay for them and don't force me to drive twenty miles an hour at certain times of the day, and make school buses drive like everyone else because otherwise they're a nuisance on the road. At least eighteen wheelers, as much as they clog roads, speed up.

I tend to agree porn prevents rape especially, and probably crime in general. Can't prove it, but it seems pretty reasonable.

I do a bit of web work for a well-known brand name in porn. It's not really my thing, so, instead, I nag my husband to do it for me. "Dear, you have to do your pornography this week. Don't forget!", is a common refrain in our household.

That was my point, without porn or something to help guys to get off more easily and conveniently, most would be pretty distracted with girls and getting laid 24/7, even at completely inappropriate times.

With porn you can focus on other stuff, like what the government is doing, and then focus on chicks when it is appropriate.
