Clinton and Obama have done more for the GOP than any member of the GOP in many generations. Each pushed some type of nationalized health care package and each took a huge beating as a result.

Reagan would be called a neo-con today, and while he lowered the income tax he doubled the payroll tax (tripled it for self employed)
before Reagan you did not need a social security number to get a passport, buy/sell stocks, buy/sell real estate.
Reagan promised to end draft registration, it was an issue in 1980; then changed his mind after winning.
