The Creature from Johnny's Half Shell

Johnny's Half Shell is a popular gourmet restaurant located in Washington, DC. In June 2007, representatives of the Financial elite from New York were called to gather there for a secret meeting. It was a small affair, held in a private room over an expensive dinner, with an exclusive guest list. The purpose of the meeting: an employment interview. Present at the meeting were top executives Dick Fuld (Lehman Brothers), Greg Flemming (Merrill Lynch), Larry Fink (BlackRock), Paul Volcker (Former Fed Chair), Gary Cohn (Goldman Sachs), and Warren Spector (Bear Sterns). The subject of the introduction and interview, Barack Obama, was also present. The job he was seeking: President of the United States of America.

Some might ask why would the "Wall St" people back a Democrat? Isn't big business in bed with the Republicans, and don't the Democrats look out for the little guy? Well, that's just so much false left/right propaganda. Obama has been a much greater friend to Wall St. than the Republicans, and it doesn't hurt that these high-level CEOs and Executives are all hard-core limousine liberals; put simply, they are Democrats. And it's not a surprise that their "ideology" conveniently dove-tails right into their business profits. What these Wall St. Banksters and Obama know is this: big government means big debt. They are partners. Debt is the drug, the Banksters are the pushers, and politicians are the drug addicts. Obama wants to spend money, and he doesn't care how high the fees are or how much debt accumulates. The Banksters push the debt, underwrite the debt, resell the debt, package the debt, make markets out of debt, and advise on how to hide the debt with accounting tricks. Ask Orange County about it. Or Greece. Companies such as Goldman Sachs were at the center of those spectacular collapses, driven by debt and accounting fraud.

Obama gives speeches about the "Fat Cats" and Wall St. excesses. Simultaneously, he has a party and a good laugh with those same people. The jokes on you; the taxpayer, the saver, the producer, the consumer, and the future generations of Americans saddled with debt and a worthless currency.

Another tidbit: As a show of good faith, the Wall St. boys also invested a lot of money in a Chicago "bank" that Obama was involved with, one that had lent out lots of money, without a lot of return on investment...

It seems they are still contributing to Chicago banks:

WASHINGTON—Goldman Sachs Group Inc. has jumped into an effort to save a Chicago bank whose efforts to expand lending in poor communities have high-profile supporters in Washington and Chicago.

Goldman Chief Executive Lloyd Blankfein has discussed the Wall Street bank making an investment in ShoreBank Corp. with Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Chairman Sheila Bair, according to people familiar with the situation. He has also telephoned other bank executives as ShoreBank tries to raise $125 million it needs to forestall a possible takeover by the FDIC, people familiar with the discussions say.
    ...
If Goldman invests, it will join a group that tentatively includes Bank of America Corp., Citigroup Inc. and J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., among others, people familiar with the discussions say. BofA, Citigroup and J.P. Morgan all declined to comment. ShoreBank spokesman Brian Berg said the bank is "expeditiously engaged in capital-raising efforts."

They prefer Romney for the GOP. He's essentially one of them. No doubt they will back Obama and Romney. They always play both sides. Since the GOP Primary is a wide open field this year, they will probably have a second and even a third GOP candidate lined up.

Not to leave the Republicans out, Jamie Dimon and others got a little miffed with Obama in late 2009, early 2010, for his rhetoric (amounting to nothing) about "fat cats", and the Dodd Financial Reform law (that was fully neutered and actually beneficial to the Corporatists by the time it passed). Dimon personally met with John Boehner and other Republicans to talk about donating to the GOP again. Depending on who tells the story, who initiated the kiss and make-up sessions is not clear. What is clear is that as a whole, the Wall St. Banksters donated more to the GOP than Democrats in the 2010 mid-term elections (even though they are still for the most part limousine liberal Democrats).

Who better than Wall St. to predict the obvious winner and invest? For all of the hard work of the Tea Parties and the frustration of Americans with debt-addicted socialism, in the back rooms, the Banksters will probably get credit for the GOP wins in 2010, at least with the GOP establishment...

Jamie Dimon Lunched In Capitol Hill Restaurant With GOP Leader John Boehner
    Feb. 4, 2010

Jamie Dimon, the head of JP Morgan Chase lunched last week with House Minority Leader John Boehner, Brody Mullins and Neil King Jr are reporting in the Wall Street Journal.

Over lunch Boehner made a pitch that Dimon, who has been a Democratic supporter, should start donating to Republican candidates.

And we can't leave out Eric Cantor (House Majority Leader-Elect)...

Back in February 2010, House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) made a pitch to the titans of the financial services industry. "I sense a lot of dissatisfaction and a lot of buyer's remorse on Wall Street," the Virginia Republican said, referencing the industry's supposedly souring relationship with the Obama administration.
    ...
For a cynical observer, they appeared to be a signal that the GOP was prepared to do the financial services industry's bidding.

Either way, they appeared to have worked.
    ...
Cantor's office, pressed for comment, framed it as a natural marriage between like-minded free-enterprise theorists. [The good old "Free-market" defense. - B4L]
    ...
But David Donnelly, the national campaign director for the Public Campaign Action Fund, offered a more cynical take on the trend, going so far as to call on the office of Congressional Ethics to investigate Cantor for doing Wall Street's bidding.

"Whether Eric Cantor promised Wall Street that Republicans would stay bought might never be known. But what we do know is that in their efforts to fight financial regulation, Wall Street bet heavily on Cantor by giving large amounts of campaign money to him and his PAC -- much more so than in the past. It's another example of Washington's money problem: when legislation and fundraising mix, everyday Americans are shut out."

    The "Bromance" is back on!

As for the quote below, the exact opposite is true. We need a Constitutional Amendment to create a strict separate of State and the Private Sector:

"a partnership between the public and private sectors is vital"

Jamie Dimon Back at the White House

He's ba-ack! JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon met with President Obama in the Oval Office Wednesday morning. A White House official told Fox News' Mike Emanuel the purpose of the meeting was "to discuss ideas for growing the economy and creating jobs." Dimon's, and other business leaders' relationships with the administration was were strained during the battle for a financial reform bill last year. The banking executive was critical of the White House, calling the president's plan for reform dangerous to the banking system and undermining investor confidence.

A White House official said the two met "to move forward," saying "a partnership between the public and private sectors is vital".

How can we leave out the pay to play scandal?

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission warned banks that a ban on using political donations to win municipal bond business applies to top executives after faulting a JPMorgan Chase & Co. vice chairman for fundraising for former California Treasurer Phil Angelides.
    ...
The rule barring so-called pay-to-play in the municipal bond market applies to executives at bank holding companies that oversee securities firms, the SEC said. The regulator took the rare step of releasing a probe’s findings without seeking to impose any sanctions, as it stakes out a position on the rule.

Related to pay for play...the politicians get political contributions for keeping the underwriting and financial advise with a few select financial firms.
