    Book about free market solutions

Do you know a good book about free market solutions like electricity, roads, firefighting, land ownership, city planning, local authorities, etc...?

    Practical Anarchy-- Stefan Molyneux

He has a chapter on how roads would operate in a free market.

    Walter Block on road privatization:

He has a book on road privatization but you have to pay for it.

Not a book, but a video set and a good place to start.

YouTube - -DVD Version: INTRO - Individualism vs Collectivism

Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

The Voluntary City is easily the best book on this subject, I believe.

Way back when Conza was a member, he had me read Rothbard's Egalitarianism. It's the best book I can think of which explains how society could function when privatizing what are currently considered necessary public services. In the book, Rothbard also goes over topics as child rights. I'm sure a .pdf of the book can be found on Google if you look.

There is an enormous list of libertarian books which can be found here.

So do you think these books will give insights about local authorities, firefighting, aviation control, sewage, national parks privatization, electricity and water supply, and other such things that the current governments usually supplies or control?

why don't you read something by Mises? Socialism? the anarchist stuff is just a pipe dream. it doesn't even make sense. they oppose the existence of a monopoly of force in a given territory, and pretty much act like there would be paradise in the absence of such monopoly. so if no one has a monopoly on the legal use of force in a territory, what's the alternative? many competing violent enterprises or none. if none, if somebody punches you in the face, you'll have to apply justice by yourself. if there are many "private security agencies", there is no good reason to think things will be so much better like anarchists think. so if you agree with this, don't waste time and read some serious stuff. like Mises.

Yeah that's exactly what I am trying to avoid. I don't want to read stuff about anarchy, I already read "For a new Liberty" and it didn't convince me at all. But is there a book for minarchists that touches on the subjects of: local authorities, firefighting, aviation control, sewage, national parks privatization, electricity and water supply, etc...?

It sounds like you're looking for utilitarian arguments in favor of Ayn Rand's idea of an ideal government. I'm not aware of any compiled book which goes over every public service and gives a list of hypotheticals for how the free market could solve the problem which isn't written by an anarchist. Discussions about how privatization would work out are often forum topics of the CATO Institute. You can use their handy search tool and type in the topic you're interested in, then listen to a recording of a debate on the issue if available: http://www.cato.org/events/archive.html

The Reason Foundation publications & John Stossel go over privatization of various public services fairly regularly, too.

The Video set I posted gives a good base. A place to start to understand the differences between individualism and Collectivism. Understanding this is the base on which to build.

It touches on the subject, but does not get into detail on services.

Trying to understand Individualism and Liberty from a collectivist standpoint will only leave you confused.
