The Virginia Tea Party Federation will join with the Virginia Campaign for Liberty as part of a nation-wide ‘Audit the Fed/End the Fed’ protest rally against the Federal Reserve in Richmond, Friday.
Activists will gather in Kanawha Plaza from 11:30a, for a lunchtime protest holding signs and banners and handing out literature and DVD’s to passersby both on foot and in cars.
Outside the Richmond Federal Reserve building in E. Byrd Street, one of twelve across the country, Tea Party, libertarians and other activists will join similar-minded people across the nation holding similar rallies. Most will be holding rallies Saturday but Richmond organizers Nathan Cox, Harry Holt and Igor Prohorov decided to hold the rally lunchtime Friday to ensure more people heard their message of the need for sound money.

Congressman Ron Paul (R) from Texas, a former Presidential candidate and darling of Tea Party people and libertarians both in the U.S. and globally has been behind the push for Congress and the American people to question all aspects of the Federal Reserve, now headed by Ben Bernanke.
“The Federal Reserve is the chief culprit behind the economic crisis. Its unchecked power to create endless amounts of money out of thin air brought us the boom and bust cycle and causes one financial bubble after another. Since the Fed’s creation in 1913 the dollar has lost more than 96% of its value, and by recklessly inflating the money supply the Fed continues to distort interest rates and intentionally erodes the value of the dollar,” says Dr. Paul who has tirelessly campaigned for more awareness of the Fed’s policies and practices, introducing legislation and writing End the Fed meticulously detailing his reasoning.

One of the organizers for Friday’s protest, Nathan Cox, has put a disclaimer on the protest’s Facebook Page stating:
“I want to make this clear to everyone coming. This is a civil/peaceful protest, if you incite force or an act of violence on someone, then you represent yourself, because you do not represent me or Campaign for Liberty.. As peaceful activists we arm ourselves with cameras,” said Mr. Cox going on to say if some felt the need to carry firearms for self defense he had “no problem with that.”
Tea Parties and Campaign for Liberty events have been universally peaceful and Friday looks like being no exception

Over fifty souls showed to call for an audit of or end to The Federal Reserve System. Many people honked and gave a thumbs up.

WRVA, our local AM station has been playing the END THE FED chant and several office drones have mentiioned the action to me, a sign that consciousness is growing.
