Jake Towne asks Charlie Dent about...the Constitution

During the 2nd half of the October 25 Express Times debate, the candidates would be asking each other direct questions. This was certainly going to be exciting, since I knew Jake would word his questions so that his opponents would have to give straight-forward answers.

Jake’s question to Congressman Charlie Dent was fourfold, basically, “You’ve sworn and oath to the Constitution many times. Where in the Constitution do you have
-the power to accept tax-payer paid health care [lucrative congressional healthcare program]
    -the power to unconstitutional wars
-the power to bail out of private corporations,
-the power to violate the 4th amendment rights of our citizens to authorize federal agents to commit warrantless wiretapping, secret searches, nude body searches under the Patriots Act and other legislation you’ve supported.”

Right away, Dent says, “You know, Jake, you fancy yourself as quite the Constitutionalist, but you kind of strike me as more of an Articles of Confederation guy.”
Translated, that means “Your ideas are so out of date, Jake.”

Congressman Dent immediately zones in on Jake’s belief that 9/11 was caused by the destructive foreign policy of the United States. Jake quickly interrupts and says “It’s a CIA term: blowback.” Although Jake wasn’t supposed to interrupt, it was important for the crowd to understand that Jake’s stance on 9/11 isn’t something he thought up – the CIA itself has termed what happened as blowback.
Then Dent said that what Jake believes is like “what the 9/11 truthers believe”. Clearly this was a tactic to make the crowd suspicious of Jake. Fortunantly, Jake's pretty quick and right away interrupted, “I am not a 9/11 truther, Charlie!”

It was very important for the crowd to realize that Jake is not a 9/11 truther. That statement made by Dent was obviously a ploy to belittle Jake Towne in the eyes of the crowd.
Dent continues on to stress the importance of the Patriot Act, how it allowed better collaboration and information sharing between intelligence agencies and local law enforcement. Dent explains how law enforcement already uses roving wiretaps for drug dealers, so why not use it for anti-terrorism operations; and that America is much safer because of the wiretapping and Patriot Act.

Charlie Dent never touched on the Constitutional aspect of Jake’s questions.

Of course, he can't do that and expose himself as the fraud he is! I sure would love to see Towne win.
