I did have a thought that this may be a lead up to the 401k confiscation issue. Paint the market to J6P as being so rigged and unstable (and that's true) that keeping your 401k money in it is too risky now and should be diverted to "safer" instruments like Treasuries. This HFT issue has been going on for a while, including the flash crash months ago, so why would CBS now do a segment about it and for what purpose?
