So he can replace Obama and do whatever is possible to end the government's crap.

And hopefully wake a few more people up.

Well many of us only want him to run if he is gonna Run to win. Not the nice-guy educational campaign; but rather the no holds barred down and dirty in it to WIN it campaign.

So he can speak truth to the American people.

If he grew what he did in 2007/2008 by 50%, that'd be a huge win for American society. That means if he received 1.0M vote in 2008, I'd like him to tally an additional 500,000 votes in 2012.

    I hope that's a conservative estimate.

Im shooting for doubling the numbers but I'm afraid some of the people on this board are clueless as to how difficult it is to win an election while still talking about ending the fed, privatizing social security, ending endless wars and other iconoclastic issues.

    I wouldn't talk about EVERYTHING

as a doctor like him, he should EDUCATE people as to why health care is why it is

then speak on the economy and call it a day.

I would leave a ton of stuff out and just win at their own game

if they say they can keep america safe from terrorism then he should go above and beyond that and $#@!in guarantee that no harm will EVER come to any american while he is in office.

I don't care how he gets into office at this point, they aren't playing by the rules and with that comes the issue of ron paul and his amazing morals. As sad as it sounds, he is almost too honest to ever win that seat.

Obama said what he needed to to get into office and look at how the country is, bush said whatever his dad told him to say and look at what they accomplished. If anything we get ron paul into office even if the entire country thought he was pro war and for the health care bill and then once in office REMOVE THE B.S.

Someone will bait him during a debate into his thoughts on 9-11 or his thoughts on abortion or his thoughts on the fed as well as talking about the gold standard itself. $#@!in $#@!s sat and laughed at him and he was speaking truth.

agreed but we live in the digital age.

There is SOOOO much "dirt" on Ron Paul it's nuts. I mean "dirt" in the sense that the general population would shake their head at. There are clips of Ron saying....

We didn't need to fight a civil war in the 19th century (The North should have bought all the slaves and subsequently freed them)

    (crazy racist newsletters)

    Opposed the civil rights act

Opposes all Gov't run humanitarian efforts

    Opposes all foreign aid

    Opposes Gov't subsidized student loans

    Opposes legal tender laws.

Imagine the 30 second ad they could create with this stuff

These positions are out of the mainstream whether we are willing to accept that or not. That is why we must understand two things......

    1. This is a Revolution and it will not happen overnight. We will not shift the political spectrum overnight. Real change takes a lot of time, and we are still an educational campaign

    2. Don't set unrealistic goals

Those lines are exactly why I became a supporter.

Because he's currently the only, and I mean ONLY U.S. politician who makes any sense. Maybe he won't win (in fact, he probably won't), but that's not what this is all about. It's about furthering the philosophy of liberty and pushing it slowly into the mainstream of political thought.

Dr. Paul's 2008 run was the first libertarian educational campaign that actually infiltrated the major-party paradigm, and we've seen critical mass of these ideas and widespread exposure because of it. If it wasn't for Ron's campaign, I'd probably still be an ignorant socialist, and many more liberty-loving folks would still be ignorant socialists or neocons out there. The strength of change from here on out can only multiply twofold, if not more. Ron Paul is doing admirable and highly necessary work. Let's help out if we can!!!

Its a great way to educate and build an extremely strong base but it won't mobilize moderates. just look at the positions rand has taken toward the middle.

So all of the people telling us how great we're doing can club us over the head with the (2007% + 3YearGain%) > 2007%+10% voting numbers in 2012.

You belittle the results of Ron Paul's 2008 campaign foolishly.

One thing you're not going to do here is actively discourage the membership from pushing Ron Paul in 2012.

It's in our forum guidelines, I ask that you respect it, and that you also take a look at where many of your fellow voluntaryists came from.

The time for educating is over with... we can no longer placate to the extremes, we need to activate the majority, like ron does in his own district and rand has been doing...

obviously we must minimize our extremes for the sake of victory... this isn't a game for ego, but life or death for our families...

we will win, it just won't make a lot of the purists happy how that happens.
