Net Neutrality is good when implemented by ISPs, but we have no right to tell the ISPs how to serve their clients -- except in that we can choose not to purchase service from an ISP which discriminates against certain traffic. Furthermore, there is not a significant amount of "tiering" currently going on. Even if there were, there's no reason for the government to step in unless ISPs are conspiring to block objective news or education websites, in which case, the gov't is probably involved anyway, soooo..........

Don't let the catchy title mislead you, this is what they are hoping for.

Neutrality is just another useless word that has a highly subjective meaning that can be used by propagandists. Just like the word "fair" it is used to hide the true nature of legislation and ideas.

Even ISP-managed net neutrality isn't all that good. Some want all traffic to be treated equally, but if I'm trying to watch Netflix and all my neighbors are torrenting I say throttle those suckers. Things like AT&T switching to tiered data may seem like a step back, and I do wish they at least had a very expensive unlimited plan, but they're just trying to better serve their customers. Some people want data plans but don't want to shell out $30 a month, so now they can get cheaper plans but get a little less. So far I think there's been very few cases of an ISP throttling the traffic of one website to get you to use a different one. If one website pays for itself to get a faster connection that's the same as me paying more to get a package sent overnight. Once again the consumers don't want the responsibility of having to keep ISPs in check.
