Jim Bender for US Senate from NH

We have 4 weeks to go until the primary!

Please consider helping Jim by donating to him now, even if you don't live in NH and can't help the campaign otherwise...

More now than ever, we do not want any more 'establishment' candidates to DC.

Jim is not a politician but a conservative businessman who understands the Constitution.

He is free to devote his full time effort to the cause.

Those of us who have met Jim say, to meet him is to support him.

Aratus, yesterday they bought an ad for the top of this forum. Then the person disappeared and no ad is there.

I hope this place is reputable.... :-(

There is no way that I can support someone whose own Campaign Manager calls him a "New England Republican," with tremendous similarities with Scott Brown.

“Today I’m pleased to announce that Beth will be assuming leadership of our campaign. We’re confident she will lead us to victory this fall, as she did with Scott Brown in Massachusetts.”

“There are tremendous similarities between these two gentlemen,” Lindstrom quotes. “Jim is a New England Republican..."

    Thanks, but, no thanks.

So what do you prefer? Someone who isn't going to talk about the Constitution?

This woman doesn't have a clue who Jim Bender is...she is a bloody campaign worker!

Jim is the only constitutional candidate in the race. He's already met with RP in DC.

I can't really take people seriously who are supporting someone like Alvin Greene the socialist who can't put a sentence together.

Are you really going to tell me that Jim Bender's own Campaign Manager has no idea who Jim Bender is? I am fairly certain that she knows who her employer is, otherwise she wouldn't be his Campaign Manager. And for her to say that Jim is a moderate, New England Republican should be quite telling.

Furthermore, just because I don't support a moderate doesn't mean I am supporting the idiotic Alvin Greene's of the world. I don't recall saying that either.

Bender is ignored by the media, which is usually a good sign in terms of where he stands on issues. Unfortunately, it looks like he is in third place in the GOP Primary. A real long-shot.

    Palin endorsed Ayotte:

"Ayotte is among seven candidates seeking the GOP nomination for the seat being vacated by Republican Sen. Judd Gregg"

Ayotte up big in NH Senate race over Hodes

posted at 3:35 pm on August 9, 2010 by Ed Morrissey

Democrats had hoped to pick up a Senate seat in New Hampshire by running a sitting Congressman to replace retiring Republican Judd Gregg, but the latest Rasmussen survey indicates that their strategy is failing to impress Granite State voters. Paul Hodes only gets 38% of likely voters, while Attorney General Kelly Ayotte wins more than 50% in what looks like a blowout:

Former state Attorney General Kelly Ayotte continues to hold a double-digit lead over Democratic Congressman Paul Hodes in the race for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the Granite State shows Ayotte, a Republican, earning 51% support, her best showing to date, while Hodes picks up 38% of the vote. Four percent (4%) like some other candidate in the race, and six percent (6%) are undecided

A month ago, Ayotte posted a similar 49% to 37% lead over Hodes. In five previous surveys stretching back to February, Hodes’ support has remained in the narrow range of 35% to 39%, while Ayotte has captured 46% to 50% of the vote.

The other Republican in the primary, Bill Binnie, also leads Hodes but by a narrower 46/40 margin. The survey gives Ayotte some good news in what has become a big-money battle. Binnie poured millions of his own money into the campaign, but Ayotte won an endorsement from Sarah Palin and Binnie got put on the defensive over his brand of conservatism. Oddly, though, Rasmussen didn’t survey on the primary fight.

Ayotte wins the favorability contest as well, with a 55/33 rating. Binnie only gets 45/38, still positive and with some upside (16% unsure), but behind Ayotte. Hodes is barely above water, 46/44. Among independents — always an important demographic in New Hampshire — the differences are even more pronounced. Ayotte gets a 67/22 favorability rating, while Binnie does well but falls behind with a 52/34. Hodes goes underwater with independents at 41/50.

If Binnie wanted to paint himself as more conservative, that effort seems to have failed, too. Sixty-nine percent of voters think of Ayotte as a conservative, compared to only 53% of voters for Binnie. At the same time, Ayotte edges Binnie out on being mainstream (54% to 51%, respectively) and are all but tied on the “extreme” measure” (23%, 22%). Hodes does worse than both, with only 41% seeing him as mainstream and 39% considering him extreme.

Either Republican appears capable of beating Hodes, but it looks like Ayotte has a significant edge.

In endorsing Republican candidate Kelly Ayotte (AY'-aht), Palin also strayed a bit from the facts in praising her for having "won" a case before the U.S. Supreme Court.

As state attorney general, Ayotte defended a law requiring parental notification for teenagers seeking abortions. But it was repealed after the U.S. Supreme Court sent it back to a lower court.

Ayotte is among seven candidates seeking the GOP nomination for the seat being vacated by Republican Sen. Judd Gregg.

Palin made a huge mistake by doing this.. She has no idea about our candidates, has not spent time here or with them at all. NH does not take kindly to outsiders vetting their candidates for them. I'm sure if Palin had done her homework, she would never have picked Ayotte...

That said, I have learned not to be too shocked at anything RP supporters say on this forum -- after all they are mostly young and clueless, from doing things like to thinking RP is a progressive who has animal rights as an issue to supporting outright socialists.

It was really a sick joke during the campaign.. really... as to how clueless they were about RP and his positions and platform and what they had to do to get him elected. Really they are the reason he lost in NH.

That doesn't make much sense. She was announced as Campaign Manager on March 30th at a press conference where she stood next to Jim as he introduced her, and then she spoke. I'm going to assume that they've known each other for a bit longer than 2 weeks.

    Foreign Policy

It is vital that we are successful in Afghanistan and Iraq, and that we deny terrorists a safe haven. I support stepped up drone attacks in Pakistan. I do not believe that we should establish an arbitrary deadline for leaving, and rather we should take recommendations from the Generals on the ground.

Our country must have the strongest defensive capabilities in the world. We must keep America safe. We should not hesitate to take action in defense of our freedom and our American way of life. But we must also make sure that American military action is guided first and foremost by the country’s national interest and the Constitution.

I will vote to fund our most important defense systems, including the strategic missile defense program, to protect our country from the threat of a missile attack.

Finally, part of our national security must also include a comprehensive program to protect our nation’s soldiers and veterans and ensure their continued well-being. I will fight to make sure our soldiers have the equipment they need to be victorious.

    Israel

Israel has always tried to secure an everlasting peace in the Middle East as she lives under the constant threats from her neighbors. As the only true democracy in the Middle East, Israel shares America’s democratic values. I support the two-state solution that reaffirms Israel’s right to exist and provides a place of their own for the Palestinians.
Those of you who read my posts know that I am very willing to compromise to an extent to improve the makeup of Congress. I can put up with vague statements that seem as if they are trying to sidestep the issue, and to give those candidates a shot to demonstrate their allegiances via their voting record.

I cannot, however, support someone who puts Israel's interests ahead of America's. I cannot support someone who openly supports an increase in drone strikes, which have killed 10 innocent civilians for every target, in a country that we are not even under a pretense of war with.

Is this the level we have sunk to?

It's the level that NH4RonPaul has sunk to. He seems to be the only one on RPF that I've seen promote Jim Bender. Even Chuck DeVore had more supporters on here.

mr. bill binnie has hammer and tonged the N.H
att'ny general with no let-up on my lil ole tv set.

were i living 75 miles to the north of where i am,
were i voting in the primary this tuesday, i would
be way sore tempted to avoid the A.G's name and
mr. binnie's in favor of the much quieter candidate.
