Question for Kentuckians: What Percentage of KY Voters Vote Absentee?

I've scoured the net, but haven't been able to come up with anything definitive here. It seems as if-- unlike some other states, Kentucky makes it difficult to vote absentee.

Going in to the last weekend with a double digit lead is one thing if half the ballots have already been cast and another if only 5% have. Has the campaign been pursuing a targeting strategy for absentee voters?

It's really easy, you sign up if you need one for an extended period of time (military service, disability, etc.) otherwise you show up at the County Clerks office within 21 days of the election.

Exactly. It's important to have our voter ID in place and our machine in place to make sure our supporters vote.

To answer your question, one has to look at the results given for the individual counties on the County Clerk's website. They are buried there. The information used to be on the Secretary of State's website, but for some reason has been removed.

For the Jefferson County (Louisville) 2008 Republican Presidential Primary, 43,500 people voted. Of these, 42,381 voted at the polls, 717 were walk-in absentees, and 402 were mail-in absentees.

    So, approximately 2.6% voted absentee.

Definition of politics: poly = many or multiple; tics = blood sucking vermin
Jack Conway is a politician, Rand Paul isn't.
