    Glenn Beck's train track analogy

Even if you hate the man, watch this and give me your opinion of it. I thought it was a rather good explanation of where we are in history and how we got here. Go to Part 2 and move to 4:00. If nothing else, it encapsulates our current situation and can make explaining it easier to the sleeping, as well as those suffering from congnitive dissonance.

Can't watch the video at work but let me guess...

He said that we're heading toward socialism and if we don't do something right now we're all screwed?

Oh ya, and that something we need to do is left to the viewer...but in a few weeks he'll tell us that the thing we need to do is vote for a neo-con.
Definition of political insanity: Voting for the same people expecting different results.

Yeah, and ''no one in congress'' is doing anything...
and..''there are no candidates'' stepping up for liberty...blah blah

beck...i'd like to see him choke on his tongue...

    honey honey poison.

Haha, pretty damned close. He goes into how we got here and it's a pretty interesting way to explain it. It's just brief enough to peak interest in learning more detail. He goes into how we have influenced Europe and how Europe has influenced us -not in a good way.

Yep. Only a true "conservative" like Palin/Romney/Huckabee can reverse the tide of socialism.

I can't watch the video. Beck's whiney voice and childish antics make my head hurt.

Actually, Beck has reiterated many times that the people are the only ones capable of turning back the hordes. He's not a politician friendly host.

Sure, he preaches the right messages most of the time... has CRAZY analogies but so do I, so I always thought they were good...

but when candidates that can actually get us somewhere step up, he is as anti-liberty as you can get (see Ron Paul; Debra Medina... hear him wanting to french-kiss Rick Perry)...

Yep, he usually says that right before he verbally declares war on 2/3 TX Gubernatorial candidates. Beck is smooth, and if you don't pay attention he uses you. He doesn't endorse candidates, he makes it seem as though 'you' are the one who is picking them.

If I asked you a question to which there were three answers, and I then went on trashing 2 of the 3 answers for hours and days, then you picked the third answer 'on your own' did you really pick it on your own, or did you just do exactly what I wanted you to?

Wake up and see Beck for what he is.

He also told Ron Paul he wanted to french kiss him. He's an idiot sometimes, there's no doubt about that. But he's a useful tool, if you know how to use him.

Perhaps. But can the practice of individual freedom be traced back to Europe? I think our country is the first place it was put into practice to the extent that it was.

yeah, he's useful until we really need him to be, like right before a primary. It blows me away that people still give him the traffic.

Actually, I don't know what to quantify Beck as. The judge qualifies him as a close friend and I hold the judge in high regard. If he was evil incarnate as Alex Jones attests, the Judge would not be associated with him.

No Deborah. When you stop listening to them, you find out what they don't want you to know. You can be mis-informed if you like, but I choose to learn.

Oh of course... I'm probably more of a libertarian now because of Glenn Beck... he suggested some good books to read etc..., had really good content... helped me out and I thank him for it... BUTTTTT, we can't let people go on being his controlled opposition...

fortunately for me I detatched myself from Beck long ago... I still listened, still thought he was overall a great thing, but was able to disagree with him... but what he says opinion-wise (Debra Medina) has too much pull... we've got to fight that pull... the guy is a tool for us, but a larger tool for the Republican party because he is helping to get them re-elected...

How is he doing that exactly? He bashes them as much as he does the Dems. Sorry, but I don't believe he is psy-ops. At times he is a blithering idiot, (Medina et al.) other times he makes good points and does so to our advantage. I'm keeping my eye on him.

I haven't finished watching the segment (I don't have a lot of time right now), but it is an interesting piece. I'll have a better opinion later. It's just, admittedly, really hard to watch him after he spun Medina's words around like a top. However, this is good information.

And, payme, I agree. He has a lot of pull, and the minute he labels someone as anti-American, hordes of people will fall in line with little to no thought.

Does he really? I mean, yah, for one day he'll single-out a republican and bash them... but most of the time who is he talking about? Obama, Pelosi, (D), (D), (D)...

and don't let the "And I'm talking both Democrats AND Republicans" stuff full you... he says that every day... why does he say it pretty much every day? Because even HE knows that it seems he's just bashing Democrats most of the time...

He has good analogies, he makes great points, but he has had chances to pimp Liberty Candidates... he tears them apart and makes room for rhino republicans on his shows so they can speak about how ALL OF THE SUDDEN they're on that limited government side of things now that the dems have completely taken over...

Beck = Fraud... a fraud with great points, but if he didn't have great points, he wouldn't have a chance to be a fraud...
